Been a regular here since 2021. The food is decent, with nice portion sizes for the price.
The workers there, especially Abdullah/Muhammad, Sharmin, and Mithila have been great.
Their masala fries are better than most in the area.
The vibe and decor of the centereach location is tasteful and at least a class above the rest.
The food is good but I’m a little upset that my food was drenched in white sauce. I felt like i needed a spoon for my soup. I couldn’t even eat half of it. The quality is there but won’t be back. Ask for “light” sauce.
We enjoy Halal, so we decided to try this place tonight. Walked in to a clean, small store front with a handful of tables to stay and eat. The drink refrigerator in the corner provides limited choices of soda, diet, and water, and I believe iced tea. They also have fruit punch and lemonade on tap. We were quickly greeted and served by a very friendly and helpful employee at the counter. My husband ordered a 5 piece chicken with fries. Chicken pieces were small, but he said one of the best Halal fried chicken he has had. I ordered the protein over rice. I was looking forward to trying the cod and was advised they no longer serve that. Disappointed, I settled for the gyro (lamb) meat. I'm very basic, so I only topped it with peppers, onions, and hummus, no sauce. While very flavorful, it was warm to cold. The rice was also very flavorful. The hummus was creamy and fresh and had a kick of pepper to it. Next time, I'd like to try the chicken as well as the shrimp. We will absolutely return.
Stopped by this place today, and was greeted by friendly staff. They asked me if I wanted to sample some of the meats which took me by surprise and was actually a nice gesture.
I ended up ordering the grilled chicken over rice with assorted toppings and white sauce. The chicken was very fresh and tender. Compared to shah's which can be a hit or miss of dry wet meat. As well, portions were very generous. I consider myself a person who eats more than an American sized portion, and I still couldn't finish the platter.
Overall, this place is definitely worth the stop. Different palate compared to Shah's but everything was fresh and the service was phenomenal.
-Updating this review to say this place is still one of the best Halal spots locally. Portion sizes are amazing. Cod was fresh, the fries were on spot as well.
Just make sure to park in the Dunkin Donuts parking Lot
Tonight I met one of the nicest guys at a little tiny halal place by my dog groomer.
First of all shout out to my amazing dog groomer All Elite Animal Care and Grooming my dog has never looked better.
So when we went there we had never been to this all place but we decided to give them a shot and we're glad we did. It is called the The Halal Hut located in centereach on Middle country road. It is right behind the newish Dunkin' donuts
The boy child has a headache so he didn't feel like coming out with us so we picked up some fried chicken for him. He had some and said it was delicious.
We ordered my daughter two empanadas one gyro and one chicken. They are full of filling and pretty good... That's right I took a bite of each. We did not expect them to be as large as they are so we also got her a gyro. She'll save one of them for lunch tomorrow. Like many other halal places it's a build your own. So when you look at her gyro please note there is no lettuce or tomato because she doesn't enjoy that but they offered peppers and onions that she loves.
I got a spicy chicken platter over rice. Covered in white sauce and with a little bit of the spicy red sauce. Traditionally from the halal places I go to the red sauce is very thin. This one was almost like a tomato sauce consistency and a chunky one at that. It's pure fire.... Meaning it's both spicy and awesome.
We will add this to a list of places that we will definitely go back to. In speaking with the owner guy he told me they're opening up a new location in Stony Brook soon.
