My mother was there for approximately a year, and this was our experience. The best part about this place were the assistants. They truly cared and were compassionate. I was concerned about the turn over from being a receptionist and a few weeks later distributing medicine at the pharmacy. In fact some quit because they were uncomfortable with this. No one should be distributing meds without being qualified, . There is also not enough supervision or staffing. All residents taking medicine have to get on a long line.
My biggest disappointment came when my mother was sent to the hospital without me getting the call. She had a stroke and there were no notes to the ER doctor. . Consequently she didn’t get the the medication she needed immediately and is now disabled . I did not get a call for 10 days from the Sentinal to check and see how she was doing. The director that called apologized that she couldn’t get information because of Privacy at the hospital. . What about calling me to check on her status.
Do not be misled by the rating of 5, in fact they give you a tour and ask you to rate it a 5. There is nothing luxurious about this place! They are calling it Luxury Living with no professional Guard . These are the Elderly and need to be protected.
Unfortunately, There was just a crime scene there two weeks ago, and one of the residents lost her life. If there were screams the police should have been called immediately.i was so saddened by this when i saw it on social media , and then the article.
Five stars are always on top. Two months ago there is a 2 star rating and they put it on the bottom.
Looking to place a loved one can be challenging. Thankful when we called we were offered a tour right away at our convenience. When we visited the Sentinel Laura and Ashley not only answered all our questions but explained the entire process. We will be following up in early December.
Short on time, but I was very happy with this facility. The staff is very friendly and seem to be interested in the clients. I’m happy my brother is here. Everybody at the front desk was helpful and friendly and Doug was great in getting the information I needed. Again I am very happy that my brother is here.
I recently toured The Sentinel for my mother-in-law, and Ashley was the one who showed me around. She was extremely professional, warm, and outgoing, which made the whole experience wonderful. The building itself is beautiful, and Ashley did an excellent job highlighting everything it has to offer.
I visited the Sentinel of Port Jervis and my experience was absolutely amazing. Care Manager Monica B. was an absolute dream along with Assistant Care Manager Dana. From the CM to the executives such as Jenn D, AED Alyssa; I couldn’t have seen a more compassionate team. There was even an emergency when I visited and they handled it with such grace. Nurse Terry on staff was very knowledgeable, but most of all caring. They have such an amazing way of doing things. I couldn’t think of a better place to place my family member.
