Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had and my sister’s favorite wings! I’ve been here a few times now and have always enjoyed my experience. The food is pricey especially considering there are authentic hole in the wall places with tacos for 2-3 dollars. However the flavors are great and the tacos are large and well made. The honey garlic wings are also really great. I came most recently for happy hour which is 4-6 on weekdays I believe. The happy hour deals are pretty good and the food is filling so you can have a few drinks and some food for less than $50.
They were also able to accommodate for dietary restrictions.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a while now, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The bartenders/servers Phebe and Andy always go above and beyond. They’re attentive without being overbearing and are genuinely friendly. They remember little details from past visits, which makes every meal feel personalized. It’s rare to find service this good.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a full dinner, this place truly delivers excellent food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service. Highly recommend!
The food was absolutely amazing. Its flavor was only bested by the most amazing bartender who took care of us named Phoebe. There was not a moment where I needed anything, and before I could ask for something it was already there. Top-tier customer service highly recommend. Also THE GUAC?!?!
Tocolo Cantina in Garden City is a nice, medium-sized Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall. They offer a good variety of dishes, and I visited for Taco Tuesday happy hour.
The decor didn’t really stand out to me, but the service was friendly and efficient. We were quickly served chips and salsa, which were very good. I ordered a classic margarita from the happy hour menu, and it was tasty and well-balanced.
For food, I tried one birria taco and one al pastor taco. Both were decent but not great. You have to ask for cheese on the birria taco, which I didn’t realize, so it came out a bit dry. The consomé also wasn’t the best.
Overall, Tocolo Cantina is a pleasant spot with good service and drinks, but the tacos left me wanting more. It’s a nice place for happy hour, but if you’re looking for truly standout tacos, there are better options around.
First time trying this spot. Margaritas were really tasty. The crispy honey garlic wings were the favorite dish of the table. The birria tacos with consome were my personal favorite. The chicken tinga empanadas needed a little salt but the sauce was delicious. Overall great experience! Can’t wait to come back for happy hour Monday-Sun 12-5PM and try some dessert ❤️
