Western Suffolk BOCES @ Dix Hills is great. All sorts of skill based training. From cosmology to auto repairs; this place offers plenty. Day or night classes are available. My union gave me a voucher for my class, ask about your benefits. Instructors are real world professionals who know their trade. Totally recommend BOCES.
I highly recommend this school.i took 3 years of baking here from 1975 to 1977 I don't know if they still have culinary arts today.but it was a great school .mr piccolo was my baking instructer
First year student when Wilson Technological Center opened, first class to graduate, Class of 1965.
Classes in Technical Electronics for 2 years. High School: North Babylon High School, graduated June 1965.
Great education, went on to collage as did most of all the students in tech electronics. Good memories.
As a student at this school for almost two years it has been amazing. I leave my usual high school for half of the day to study in the field i plan to pursue in the future at a much higher level than they will teach you in high school, whatever that may be. There are so many options from design/art to audio to cosmetology to nursing to carpentry and so so much more as well as classes for kids who need a little more help in their learning. It's very in depth and fun and the part of my day that I always look forward to the most.
