Whoever hires people here deserves all the praise. Every single time I come to this store I have such a wonderful experience at the register. The staff here is magical and friendly and kind. Thank you :)
I was very impressed with this store. I stopped in after the UConn ladies basketball team won, and wanted to get a bottle of Chardonnay. They didn't have the brand name I was looking for, however, they were very professional and helped me select the bottle that was equivalent to the one I was looking for. The lovely person there took her time and wasn't in a hurry to rush me. If you're ever in Thomaston, CT, stop by Black Rock Wine and Spirits!
Largest package store anywhere nearby, great selection of booze, wine and beer, plenty of great craft beer, mixers and some really great scotch! If they don't have something I'd be quite surprised. If you're a regular and they don't have something you like to buy on a regular basis, they will get it or at least try. I don't go only for their selection, their prices are very fair and they have a great friendly staff. They offer samples quite often of some pretty tasty stuff and always have the coldest beer in town. They spare no expense to be sure you are happy and come on back for more!
I love this little store. Doesn't matter who is behind the cash register, they are always kind and sweet. Any one of them is willing to strike up a conversation with you. They really make you feel welcome!
Pretty robust selection of items, although I could not find some specific things, there were enough things on the shelf for me to get what I wanted to get. The store is very tightly packed so if there are a bunch of people in the store, you will have to take turns walking down some of the aisles. One thing to note though, the parking lot is really bad, full of deep pot holes and tight to get around. If you are unlucky to have to fight traffic from the new gas station across the street, just turn right and figure it out later.
