Been going there since the '80s. The best place ever!
I've been going to Jerry's since I was a kid, with my mother who has been going here, with my grandfather since she was a kid (they were at a different location on Main st in Seymour back then tho) and there is a very good reason for that longevity. Quite frankly they are the best butcher in the state and probably the country as well. The freshest of meats. I will not eat any type of meat that has been ground up UNLESS it comes from Jerry's. That is the God's honest truth. I don't trust anywhere else. Not to mention their amazing homemade prepared foods. My family will only get our Christmas ham from Jerry's and their Eggplant rollatini is a staple for Christmas dinner. You have not experienced food until you have gotten anything from Jerry's.
Came for a sandwich. I was unaware of the impressive selection of in-house prepared foods, which all looked amazing. I will be back to buy bulk beef cuts, and definitely to try some of those prepped foods.
The staff is VERY friendly and on point.
They are clearly busy, so be prepared to wait a minute and be patient.
I was, and it offered me a moment to socialize with some equally polite locals.
Its a very clean establishment and as I watched my food being prepared, I was extremly happy to see gloves being used the correct way (and many other minor but important details all being checked off).
This may seem like a little hole in the wall, But I assure you.... its time to ditch the grocer and get your staple meats here. Don't hesitate to grab a sammich while you shop.
Soups seemed to be a hot ticket item, Ill be trying those soon as well.
We only had breakfast sandwiches but I had a steak egg and cheese sub that was awesome! Definitely going back for meats and to try other sandwich options.
Who doesn't love a great burger at home on the grill? The problem for me is finding quality meat. Taking the advice from a friend I found my way to Jerry's meat market. The service was quick and friendly the store was neat and clean.. The clerk indicated that the meat is ground fresh daily. I got 2 plain burgers and one bacon cheddar We cooked them on the grill. OMG!!!!!! outstanding!!!!!!! The most delicious burger I've had at home. Thank you to Jackie R. for your recommendation. And to Jerry's meat market for great burgers!!!!! I will be back.
