My daughter has been a student in this school for 16 months and she loves it. She likes the interaction with the instructors, she feels comfortable and not pressured by anyone of her classmates or instructors. We love the family atmosphere and the respect given to the parents by the staff and students. Love that every month is a new word to learn, and that they are held responsible for their actions and assignments. A con personally is that they don't sweat enough, and there aren't really any consequences for not completing or practicing what should be done. Overall I would recommend this school for a child or adult who is uncertain if they want to study martial arts. This school is great for easing into the sport.
My daughter started going to RiSu through the Bristol Parks Department 4 week class. She enjoyed the class so much that after the parks department classes were completed she wanted to continue with the program. The classes teach so much more than martial arts. They teach the kids responsibility, accountability and to be the best version of yourself. Plus so much more. These are skills they will have for the rest of their lives and it is helping to lay down the foundation to become responsible and productive adults. The skills taught in this school are shown in the older students who are great roll models for the younger ones. I have nothing but positive things to say about the teachers and the program. Most importantly my child loves being a part of the RiSu family.
RiSu is a great place for children and adults to learn martial arts. Especially like the staff's way of providing positive feedback and small re-directions when students need to work on something. Class activities are varied and engaging. Even more than the physical benefits of exercise, my kids are gaining mental and emotional confidence. The character education and personal responsibility aspects make it easy to focos on needed skills at home. I highly recommend RiSu!
Risu is the perfect school to begin your Martial arts journey. The philosophy of the school is based on personal development with martial arts being a tool to help you develop the critical skills needed to reach you goals. The school has many options for the entire family. From classes for kids to many options for adults. It is never too late to begin training.
I hate writing reviews, but Risu is worth it!
I've always wanted to take up and practice martial arts for self defense. I'm a down to earth no nonsense kind of guy and when I did start going to martial art dojos to learn self defense. I had to search for a bit until I found Risu!
At Risu I found a place where I could learn how to train my mind and body to be better prepared for life's obstacles. Guru Rich and Guru Sue are amazing teachers and I recommend to anyone to go and check out a class to see if its a fit for you, you will not be disappointed!
