Teresa was amazing! I was nervous for my first mammogram and she walked me through the entire process. It was very comforting and reassuring. Could not have had a better experience! Thank you, Teresa.
I came here for my 1st Mammogram & what a treat the entire staff is. 1st off, I was just getting a routine mammogram because of my age. My nerves weren't so high or tense due to the results of process, but I have extreme at times back pain that shoots down my leg. I walked into the Cancer center 1st, & a concierge or admin staff, a man was more than kind to walk me & ride the elevator with me to the door of the mammogram radiology office. So, the start of my experience was great to the credit of Griffin Staffing or Hewitt Center staffing. The front desk staff having me complete some paperwork were patient & kind. Someone prior to me left glasses & I could hear them trying to trace who it could be while reminding me about my water or something I also had on counter. The consult about what to remove clothing & how to lock my personal items was very detailed & that person was also patient with me. Not rushed (even though they were busy with a few people waiting or being scanned). The waiting room was comfortable, dimmly lit with a tv on. I felt immediately grateful I was only having back pain on my mind, not the worry of cancer. I thought of I were in that position, I see the extra touches this place has to provide an ambiance of comfort & homey feeling. The icing on cake & really shifted my attitude was Theresa. She wasn't over bubbly, but super kind & very easing the way she was calm, but clear about the process so nothing was a surprise. She even offered tips on how to get the best scan in my breathing. The machine seemed advanced & not the nightmare cold design of the past my mother & aunts warned me of. However, Theresa giving advice to avoid having to do it all over was not lost on me. I was telling anyone I talked to that week about how happy I was booking appt here & encouraging women I know in CT to come here when they need a mammogram. My Aunt has had ups & downs with breast cancer over 20 yrs, so while I didn't have a big concern for my 1st- no lumps or abnormalities, I am grateful if ever there were a concern, I have a place to help ease the process. I actually felt my back pain be less at the forefront of my mind after the mammogram. How you are treated during any pain or anticipation of a problem really matters. The staff here all seemed wonderful if you ever have to make an appointment for breast exam, mammography or ultrasound!
I couldn't be happier with the experience I had at the Hewitt Center. I had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy here. The facility was clean, and every person on staff treated me and my wife warmly and made us feel comfortable. The skill with which they did their jobs made the experience more tolerable for me, and I felt I could depend on the results. They also have new equipment as of recently which is a plus, like a chair for biopsy as opposed to the traditional table setup. Special thanks to my navigator Sheila, along with Tina and Sara who were so awesome! Celebrating my good biopsy result today :)
