I questioned writing this review because the staff was wonderful and accommodating. However, I can't get past the food we received, so I feel I have to write it...
My sister and I each drove an hour+ to meet each other here for dinner. We don't go out much and were excited about the menu with dishes that looked so delicious. I ordered salmon and my sister ordered scallops, both in what was described as "Lemon Butter Sauce: White wine, fresh lemon, shallots, & butter."
The wine was good and reasonably priced, but when the bread came, my piece had a HUGE amount of mold on it that I didn't notice until after I had taken a bite. Honestly, there was so much mold that I thought maybe blue cheese was baked into the bread, but no, it was mold. Sorry, I didn't take a pic. After that, I was too grossed out to eat, so I canceled my order.
My sister's scallops were delivered floating in a gelatinous goo, not a fresh lemon sauce. She ate one and left the rest.
We didn't complain about the scallops, and the restaurant was very nice to comp us 2 glasses of wine. However, no manager came to the table, and he left our poor waitress, Danielle, who was WONDERFUL (and we tipped well) to deal with the situation alone.
Needless to say, it will be a long time before I eat bread and my sister has scallops at a restaurant, and we will never go to this establishment for a meal again.
Everything was amazing. We sat outside during a cool Sept evening we were the only ones outside. They lit the fire table for us. The crab nachos for appetizer were out of this world ! The cashew scallops and the create ur own were simply amazing. The scallops on the smaller side but still great. Atmosphere was nice and the waitress was so pleasant. We will def return again many times over
I had a wonderful dinner here. We enjoyed the lobster boil, shrimp and grits, crème brûlée, and carrot cake. Every dish was delightful. We sat outside, and the decor was light and easy on the eyes. There was ample parking available. It's important to note that you need to call ahead for the lobster boil. The menu offers plenty of options for everyone, tempting us to come back for more.
As a local mortgage lender, I’m always on the lookout for great spots to recommend — and Chesapeake Tavern is definitely one of them. All the food was fantastic, with tons of flavor and variety. You have to try the chef’s corn — it’s a rotating special that changes often, and it was a standout. The crab nachos are also a must!
Our server Kyle was super friendly, helpful, and full of great energy. The hostess was hilarious and high-energy too, which really elevated the overall experience.
At the end of the meal, they gave us a sealed coupon card that’s guaranteed to be at least $5 off — but could be up to $500. Such a fun and creative touch.
It’s also an easy stop right off the Columbia Trail, making it a great spot for hikers and bikers. Highly recommend!
We loved the service and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was not really too welcomed, it was dark, the tables were a bit sticky, and it smelled strange when you walk in. The had the shades down even though it was very nice out, and then later dimmed the lights even more. When we walked in, the hostess literally ran to the back, didn’t even say hi, I guess because she was eating. And had a lot of food in her mouth. Overall the place is okay. We order three entre and two drinks. $140
