My husband & I have been customers for over 15 years now. EVERY single year, I only have one wish on my birthday: a vanilla bean cake from Cocoluxe bakery!! It’s the BEST gift in the world and every year I look forward to it. There’s something incredibly special about pure perfection in the simplicity of this cake. If ever Cocoluxe closed or changed their vanilla bean cake recipe - I think my birthday celebrations would be over entirely. Beyond the vanilla bean cake, this little bakery is the most charming spot for meeting up with a friend for coffee and enjoying a fresh pastry! Oh how I love this darn vanilla bean cake… sheer heaven in every bite!!!
Absolutely delicious! Real European style pastries, not overly sweet and very appetizing. This is a place I will go out of my way for. As a matter of fact, I did this last time also. And I live in CT!
Cocolux has the best pastry , cakes and cookies. They are my go-to place for exquisitely decorated cakes for special occasions and for a cookie when my sweet tooth acts up. Paula, the owner is a charm to work with and really knows the combination of flavors that blend to make the best of all desserts. Our family highly recommends this fine pastry shop for sweets and food.
I came here today looking for some real food and not just sugary excess. I am delighted that I did. I ordered a quiche which turned out to have bacon in it. I returned it (because I am vegetarian) and the business graciously did not charge me for it. I ordered a cappuccino and a blueberry muffin (which soon brought its twin after it). Very few establishments get coffee right and I have to say this is one of them. The muffin was just the right size, was filled with fruit and had very little added sugar (sure felt like it). I will definitely visit again.
Amazing little place that focuses on French pastries and then some. There is no question about it that the quality of these baked goods are top-notch and I always look forward to visiting when I can. It’s great to see a bakery also making fresh sandwiches and soups on the daily.
Because this is a review and an opportunity to share feedback, I would like to take advantage in point out that they have to do something with how they control their queue to order and pay.
The space is not huge, and I even thought about it myself, but if you get customers that don’t know the system, they can cause a roadblock very quickly, making it very hard to maneuver in the bakery.
I encourage you to try it for yourself. You can forget about eating when it’s busy. Just my preference, but I love to order and grab a seat outside when the weather is nice.
