Being on dialysis I need an experienced, caring, compassionate doctor to administer those frequent fistula grams. Dr. Patel and the staff in the operating room not only deal with the fistula problems but they all make you feel comfortable and cared for! Only vascular surgeon I would ever use!

I cannot rave enough about Dr. Patel. I was brought by ambulance to Valley Hospital at 3am with shortness of breath, and upon discovering that I had pulmonary embolisms, they immediately prepped me for surgery. I was shocked at my diagnosis, truly terrified, and everything was happening so fast. The ER nurse told me if there was anyone I could hope for to do my surgery, it would be Dr. Patel - and she was 100% correct. I truly appreciated his down-to-earth and casual demeanor and his confidence in his ability to handle my situation - he was very calming in some of my most panicked moments. He played music and sang along during my surgery (which meant he was calm so it helped keep me calm - I really loved this part since I was 100% awake for the procedure) - and he was patient and understanding when I started having a mini panic attack halfway through (the whole situation was overwhelming). He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it, and after about an hour the procedure was completed without any complications. His follow up visits during my CCU stay were not rushed at all, he took his time to evaluate me on multiple occasions and explained all the steps after discharge. My follow up visits in his office after discharge were also not rushed at all, and he even called me personally to discuss pharmacy refills and options. I am so lucky and grateful that Dr. Patel was on that early morning. I have to return to have my IVC filter removed in a few months - the procedure will be done through my neck, which is also terrifying - but I have 100% confidence that this procedure will be just as successful as the last one and I wouldn't trust anyone else as much to handle it. Thank you so much, Dr. Patel, you truly are a gift to all of us in these medical situations and I appreciate your level of care and competence, your attentiveness, and your calm and soothing approach to my situation - you truly are unique!

Dr. Patel is everything you want in a doctor. Kind, compassionate and incredibly bright. He is a wildly skilled surgeon and I feel so very lucky to have had him as my doctor during some very scary times. He takes his time with you and never rushes you. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the amazing staff in his office. Both Roberta and Frances are just fantastic. Its not often that you have both a great doctor and a great office staff. Dr Patel is just a warm and kind doctor when I met him this past November Dr Patel understood and néw right away what medical treatments I required and he helped me right away after being in critical pain for many months and I like that Dr Patel gave me hug after I expressed my concerns. Dr Patel is very intelligent and is absolutely a wonderful doctor.

Dr Patel took care of my daughter when she came into Valley hospital as an Emergency visit and was subsequently hospitalized. From the moment we met Dr. Patel, he took his time to answer questions and explain procedures and possible outcomes clearly with a patient and kind bedside manner. He was very knowledgeable and when important decisions needed to be made on how to proceed and whether or not to do surgery,, he patiently explained options. He didn’t pressure us to make decisions quickly but explained the pros and cons of each option .
On a Sunday a day, most people want to be home with their family, he spent significant additional time on a procedure exploring to see if there were damaged areas of the vasculature that had been overlooked, causing additional problems for my daughter. We felt like he went above and beyond from the get go.
My daughter and I felt very comfortable with his care.
As a person who is also a medical professional -a Physician Assistant (No, I never met Dr. Patel before my daughter’s hospitalization and I never mentioned to him that I was a healthcare professional until her discharge ) who has worked with many physicians throughout my own career, I was extremely impressed with his patience and kindness and mostly how thorough he was and his follow through. Most doctors in my professional experience are not that patient and thorough.
In this crazy, stressful world we live in, he made a very difficult time feel a little bit easier.

If ever you need a vascular surgeon , you would be in excellent hands with Dr.Patel.
