So glad I made the journey... this one is worth the drive. It has it all... fishing, crabbing, a lovely promenade walk, facilities (in season), plenty of parking, great views, and also stuff for the kids if you have them (and the dogs as well!). For such a small area you have a beach if you choose, a fishing pier or fish wherever along the well laid out concrete perimeter which goes around the whole park or you can just chill and listen to the waves. Probably not the best for people looking to walk/jog/bike in just this area so keep that in mind but a fantastic place to walk your pooch. The only draw back I can say is that there is almost always an industrial hum in the background depending on the time of year. But that said... you kind of get used to it... the place is super clean as far as I can tell and was smartly built to last (flood protections/sea wall). The sea will win eventually but... this place is built to last for some time. There are plenty of boats to watch go back and forth also. There is also some local places to grab some grub within 10 min (and if you go south to Lanoka Harbor). Is this a "beach" destination...? no, there is a beach technically but this is a park... to be active, walk, do things, take in the sights, drop line in, drop your crab trap for a bit, walk the dog... this must be heaven for locals...
My aunt had suggested this when we visited so of course we went before heading home. My son didn't want to leave. Had a blast!! Next time we are in the area we will definitely come back!
This is a perfect place for crabbing and fishing! There’s also a splash pad nearby where kids can have fun with the water. We love spending the day here!”
Gorgeous place to relax, take a walk on the boardwalk and crab/fish. There is a price but it isn't crazy. 10 per person for the day or 25 for the season which is what we plan to do, remember to bring cash or check. There is a Pavillion but we stayed on the dock for some quiet alone time.
Spent three beautiful but windy days here training in a grueling kayak instructor certification. It is a beautiful place. Feels remote without being remote. Nice, clean bathroom facilities. Perfect access for kayaks and paddle boards here thanks to the soft sand and a lot of parking. Camped at the nearby Cedar Creek Campground and RV site, nice too.
