Have passed this spot many times on our trips to spring lake and finally made the stop for lunch. So glad we did. Fantastic service. Atmosphere is so cozy and feels very welcoming. Almost feels a little like going back in time. The little shopping center is adorable. The food was delicious. Can not wait to come back.
Food was extremely bland, unfortunately this is very Americanized Mexican food, alot of cheddar cheese lettuce and tomato. I was looking for authentic and was surprised with how many Spanish speakers were inside. Food lacked spices, no salt, no flavor, steak was mushy, I didn't even bother to finish. Wife and I both thought it was pretty bad. While our service was fine I did watch the owner argue with a customer about what they ordered. Owner came off very passive aggressive telling the customer they'd take care of it but they were wrong.
We've been going to Jose's since they first opened up. They have even catered parties for me. We love sitting at the picnic tables outside. Easy reliable quick meals. I can always count on a satisfying meal. I love their salsa and vegetable mix
My parents have come here a couple of times and they love the small, cozy atmosphere. No frills! But the food is great! They had the crazy burrito and I got the chicken enchiladas. The guac and salsa are great! I’ll definitely be back when in the area!
For the area, it may be the best choice for Mexican food. However, the food isn't great.
We had tacos, huaraches, and horchata. The tacos were pretty bare, and the pork dry. The Huaraches were over the top, with thick, heavy cheese, unlike traditional Huaraches. The horchata was enjoyable and flavorful, though, quite thick. Like drinking a glass of whole milk.
The staff is super nice and accommodating, the place is cozy and family friendly. However, we'll skip this place next time we're in town.
