La Vela Beach Cafe

I recommend this place, it's nice, the waitresses are very friendly and they have a nice view of the sea from the patio.

This place shows and confirms that THE KITCHEN STAFF makes a place.
The place is nice and clean. The workers all look nice. BUT THE FOOD TOOK FOREVER. So what the owner should do is hire a REAL COOK AND PAY HIM WELL. This place has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. With the right cook this place can be turning tables every 40 minutes. Food is ok.
So what this place needs is a REAL COOK.

I ordered a veggie burger for takeout. I received a text message when it was ready.

It was in a simple aluminum take out container. The presentation for takeout is difficult, but to my surprise, it looked pretty good. It was a hearty burger. The lettuce crunchy, 2 slices of cheddar, and the onion and tomato tasted great. Buried underneath were pickles slices. 😁 My only complaint would have been more fries.

Overall, it was a great tasting veggie burger on a hot day!

Upstairs at the White Sands Oceanfront resort and spa is the exquisite La Vela Beach Cafe. This is not your average hotel breakfast, lunch and dinner spot. The soothing decor is blue like the Mediterranean Sea. The offerings are all crafted with fresh high quality ingredients and beautifully presented like a work of art. The chef was classicly trained in Florence, Italy and it shows. We loved the Linguini Fruitti Di Mare, chock full of seafood, so yummy! The La Vela Salad was fabulous. Our party of six enjoyed the Burrata Crostini, Tuna Tartar, Grilled Octopus, Calamari Fritti, the Margherita Pizza, and the La Vela Burger, all phenomenal. Leave room for the homemade pistachio Tiramisu and Cheesecake. Family friendly with amazing prices, La Vela is definitely your coastal haven for authentic Italian cuisine.
