North Shore House

North Shore House was the perfect venue for our wedding, and working with Emma was an absolute dream!! She is incredibly thorough and made sure every detail was right, from the napkins to the tables to the food. On our wedding day, everyone was so thoughtful and kind. From getting ready in the bridal and groom suites to dancing all night, it truly felt like the perfect day. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated how accommodating the team was, and the veggie meals were delicious. Our guests loved the food and the scenery. We can’t recommend North Shore House enough!! 🩷

The North Shore House helped my husband and I host the best wedding ever! The staff is truly exceptional (and all of our guests agree). Diane, our bridal attendant, was AMAZING and helped with quite literally everything we needed. Our entire bridal party is still raving about how helpful she was and how she made getting ready such a breeze. The wait staff and bartenders were so attentive and gracious to us and our guests. They helped us with anything we needed all night long. It's clear that Louise is truly an amazing maître d'. Everything was coordinated perfectly. We are so appreciative of her helping our friends get a ride home and getting the bus company to pick up guests from our smores afterparty early when the rain picked up.

We can't not talk about the food. THE FOOD! Everything we ate was so delicious! Hats off to the chef! Our guests have been raving about the food, and not just about one thing, but everything! The lamb lollipops were a hit, and people also loved the pumpkin ravioli and the dumplings. The steak and chicken duet was superb. We've never had steak at a wedding that was so juicy and flavorful. People even shared how much they loved the salad. My husband and I are eager to dine at the restaurant to re-create our incredible evening.

Stefanie is a great pastry chef. That cake was incredible. From the decoration to the texture and flavor, everybody told us it was amazing. All the kids kept asking when the cake would come and we're sure they weren't disappointed!

We are so glad we decided to do an after-party. The staff made sure it was a fun and chill way to end our night.

The inn was so luxurious. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. We had such fun hanging out in the library late into the night. And what a wonderful spread of pastries, yogurt, and coffee to wake up to. We have to thank Louise again for coming over early in the morning to help us get the last of our things together. Tim was also very helpful during the months leading up to the wedding working with our guests. That was seriously a masterclass in hospitality. Thank you!

Samantha is an excellent event coordinator. We can't thank her enough for working with us, answering all our questions, and accommodating our requests. All the details like handling the kegs, vegan/kosher marshmallows, working around the kosher catering, and the endless intricacies of a Jewish wedding. Thank you for accommodating the kosher catering for our guests. I know they truly appreciated it. Everything was just as it should have been and executed with grace and expertise. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

We heard from many of our guests that everything from A-Z about this wedding was exquisite and we couldn't agree more. Thank you, North Shore House, for making this day one that we will cherish the memories of forever.

The North Shore House has the most amazing views situated on Swartswood Lake. The staff is top notch, Samantha is on top of everything leading up to and on the special day. This is by far the most romantic, breath taking and incredible location for a wedding. My *now* husband, Todd, and I toured The North Shore house back in January 2025. We fell in love instantly and this was in the dead of winter where the trees were bare and the ground was frozen. We saw the pictures and I knew instantly that this venue would be stunning during the summer/fall time. I remember meeting the owner during that tour and how incredibly sweet she was. When the manager, Eric, gave us all the preliminary details, I began tearing up from excitement. “This is it,” I thought so I asked to have a moment with my fiancé to discuss, after nudging him under the table. When Eric left the room, I blurted out instantly, “This is it! We found it! I want it!” Todd agreed and so began the planning stages with Emma, our events coordinator. Emma is beyond prepared and brilliant. She asked us so many important questions and made the planning process easy. She was super detailed, super knowledgeable and clearly an expert in wedding planning. Her recommendations were always the best choices and she was incredibly responsive throughout. I cannot express to you how incredible she is and how much I recommend working with Emma. She’s lovely, brilliant, and made the entire journey less stressful. The day of our wedding, there were some unforeseen things that came up but Emma took care of everything. She was always direct, communicative and respectful. She thought of things way before we could anticipate the need. A small example of this was our extra flowers. We had flowers lined down the aisle during the ceremony. She asked if she could repurpose them during the reception once the ceremony concluded. We said yes. She immediately repurposed them as decoration by the bar and made the area more beautiful. Now, the venue and inn itself. All my guests voiced how stunning the venue is from the ceremony location outdoor by the lake, to the reception space with the polished wood, and each individual room. My guests are telling me they felt like they escaped the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan area to a completely new country on a mountain top by the lake. Everyone felt the romantic setting come to life. The best part? We had the entire place to ourselves since they only do 1 wedding per day, so your guests can walk the grounds without interrupting another ceremony. Let’s talk food! I will quote a friend of mine who ran up to me on the dance floor yelling, “OMG. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST STEAK IVE EVER HAD AT A WEDDING!!!” People are raving to us constantly about the food. The lobster station was a hit! The hanger steak was by far the most loved dish. Every single selection was delicious. I loved how incredibly accommodating they are with allergies and dietary restriction. I’m gluten free, so anything I was given was made sure to be gluten free. Even the staff knew this so they alerted me what wasn’t gluten free so that I knew. The North Shore House makes your wedding dream come true; ours truly was the perfect day with the perfect weather and the perfect food.

Where do we even begin?!
North Shore House was a dream come true for our wedding. We only viewed 2 venues, this being the second, because as soon as we saw NSH we felt at home.
Location: It felt like we were on vacation and not in New Jersey, it was so serene and special. Grounds were impeccable. Each season brings a different feel, even with a misty day it was striking with the flowers, antique gates, greenery, etc. Every time we visited off season there was some maintenance being done that just goes to show the love that gets put into it. The history behind the grounds was very interesting to us and we made sure to get a picture with their bar (originally imported from Brooklyn). They have beautifully decorated guest rooms with gorgeous bathrooms and a classy feel. They allowed us to pre-pick who would be given what room to avoid any drama. Our corner room was the newlywed suite and had the best view on the grounds, we felt so special!
Service: NSH is a family owned business and they bring charm in everything they do. It was a pleasant surprise that throughout the process we met a new family member running different aspects - the kitchen/catering, grounds work, business/sales, etc! Throughout the experience (and especially day of) they would check in to make sure everything was to expectations. No wonder it felt like we were at home. We must call out that our day of coordinator, Samantha, was a literal dream to work with. She was light hearted, flexible, and felt like a friend helping you plan your day (without any of the drama that you might get working with family/friends :) professionalism was top notch). Special thanks to Eric as well that gave us the initial tour and supported our whole experience.
Day Of: It was rainy and they waited until last minute to make the call if we would do outdoor ceremony. Thankfully it lightened up and they set up all the chairs within 30 mins of the start time so that the guests would not sit on soaking wet chairs. I loved how they met up with me (the bride) before the ceremony entrance which made me feel special. They had a bridal attendant Diana that was very friendly and brought us food, champagne, etc. At the end of the night, Samantha made it a point to ask what last call drink we wanted and brought them out to us personally at the bonfire, which was so sweet. Lastly that night they packed everything up seamlessly and so we did not have to worry about a thing!

Overall we are so happy we chose NSH to have our wedding. Everything had high attention to detail. My father is a musician and has played hundreds of weddings so has high expectations - but he was very impressed with the grounds ("Spotless - you can tell they put in a lot of work") and the food ("This was real restaurant food, not wedding food"). Other family members continue to say how special of a wedding it was and how much they loved the historic Inn. It will always hold a special place in our heart - not only for our wedding, but for the first meeting of our parents, we reserved dinner there exactly 1 year from our date and enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service, getting us all so excited for the big day. Highly recommend this idea for other couples so you can picture what it will be like day of and get a different kind of tasting experience!
