My toddler is at Prospect and we love it! She can’t wait to go to school in the morning. The play based learning is wonderful, the teachers are so kind, and she has shown leaps and bounds in her skills since she started!
Such an amazing community for our daughter and us! The teachers are warm and make magic for the kids every day! Love that the school prioritizes play-based learning in and out of doors! Our daughter is still confused that there is no recess when it rains at school now (shouldn’t they just put in their rain gear and head outside?). The co-op aspect allows parents to get to know your child’s friends/peers with a minor effort (we went a few times a year) and also build friendships with other families. Would make the same school choice over and over again!
When my family and I first moved to Maplewood, Prospect Co-Op Preschool opened its doors, providing a resource for my then 4-year old to meet other kids, grow, and learn in an environment that recognizes and celebrates the individuality of each child. His teachers recognized his learning and behavioral style and found
ways to support and nurture him, regularly communicating with us about additional support resources from which he could
benefit, which ultimately helped us identify early intervention opportunities to support him as he moved into district. Three
years later, he still remembers and loves his pre-k teachers, giving them big hugs every time he sees them, and we, as his
parents, will forever be grateful to Ms. Dana and Ms. Janine for their support and guidance for our son (and us) when he was
enrolled in pre-k at Prospect.
Our youngest has been enrolled since the 2's program and is now in her final year. She has thrived within the supportive,
engaging curriculum at Prospect and as parents, we have loved the opportunity to be engaged in a meaningful way in our
children’s early childhood education and development.
We are so appreciative to Prospect Co-Op Preschool and
believe in their philosophy of believing that everyone belongs and everyone matters, and their commitment to broadening
awareness, promote thoughtful conversations, and ensuring that all children and families feel safe, welcome, and celebrated. I cannot say enough good things about this school and the summer camp!
I cannot say enough good things about this special preschool. As a teacher myself, I worried that I would never find the right place for my kid and Prospect Preschool blew me away for four consecutive years. Prospect is such a loving community that truly feels like a family. The teachers are passionate and so invested in play-based learning and giving students tons of time to explore their interests. A big bonus for us is all of the outdoor time no matter the weather and the awesome enrichment opportunities to extend the day--yoga, music, karate, Little Apple Arts, soccer and more!
My daughter was more than prepared for kindergarten because of the dedication of her preschool teachers and we know my son will be the same!
Prospect is a truly special place. The teachers go above and beyond, and because it is a co-op, parents and kids really get to know each other and become a dynamic community. We could not ask for a better way to ease our daughter into school. The classes are play-based, so she is able to focus on developing important social skills that help her become an empathetic and collaborative person in addition to preparing for kindergarten.
