We ordered catering from River Edge Pizza Kitchen for my daughter’s birthday at Van Saun Bergen County Zoo this summer and they were extraordinary! First off, no other pizza place would deliver to the zoo at 11 am on a weekend, so not only did they deliver on time and made sure we had everything we needed (including sending serving utensils and napkins), the front desk and the owner were great to work with and called to confirm we received everything. The best part: the food was great and everyone enjoyed the pizza and raved about the Penne Vodka pasta! River Edge Pizza Kitchen is our new go to spot for pizza and catering.

I came to this location before it was bought by the new owner. I loved it as a kid when it was owned by the previous couple, and I love it now as it is with the new owner. I usually order a slice or two of plain pizza, maybe garlic knots or garlic bread at times, and my brother orders a chicken cutlet sandwich with everything on it, and we occasionally get calamari or full pies here. No matter what, the food is always delicious! The wait time usually isn't bad, but sometimes, usually around dinner time on a weekend, they get a lot of orders, which is understandable.
As for the pizza, they're pretty customizable. Something I notice is that you can get either thin or regular crust, and both are fantastic! I'm a little picky with calamari, but I like the ones they serve here.
There's plenty of seating here for groups, one table for two, and two tables for five. There's outside seating, too, if the weather's nice. There is also a bathroom towards the back and past the empty pizza boxes. Overall, it's a nice place to be, though it may get hot over the summer. It's pretty affordable, and the workers are all friendly and welcoming, even on the phone! I really recommend this place.

PS: as for parking, there's some parallel parking outside on the street, though it is a main road, so do beware for your side mirrors! If there's space, there's a small parking lot to the left of the building. It can get filled, though, so I'd recommend parking on the nearby streets, like Washington Avenue or Lincoln Avenue. Lincoln Ave can be a little tricky if you're coming directly from Kinderkamack, but the two mentioned streets are at walkable distances from the pizza kitchen.

Great pizza slices. Classic cheese slice was just right. Pepperoni was even better. Alex the owner gave me and my son phenomenal service and hospitality. Made us feel at home. I

My husband and I were in the area and decided to find pizza. My husband sought out this place for the good reviews. We got there and ordered a pie and loved every bite! If I was the One Bite Reviews guy, I'd give this pizza a 10/10! Thank you again for the great service!

We stopped by for the first time tonight and were thrilled with our experience. Alex and his team are making some of the best thin crust pizza in the area.

We came in with a group of six, and they happily accommodated us. They were friendly, welcoming, and the food was delicious. The crust was thin thin thin, and the cheese and sauce were the perfect mix of salty and sweet. I wish I had taken photos of the rest of our food, but we ate it too quickly (that’s how good it is!) We had two plain small thin crust pies, a half pepperoni/half sausage, and a small thin crust with half “the works” and half veggie. We also got a salad and two Italian subs and an arugula salad. Everything we ate was fantastic!

We also got to meet the owner Alex, who has put his heart and soul into this place. He is a stand-up guy who really cares about his customers. If you get the chance, stop in and try their pizza - you won’t be disappointed!
