We have been using Dr. Lauri at Woods End Equine Vet Service for the 14 years we have had our boys:-) We are extremely happy with her in every way and we would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a great Equine Vet. We always tell everyone how much we love her! The few times I needed to contact her emergency service, she always gets back to me immediately.
I started with Dr. Lauri two years ago when I began searching for my own horse and was bringing horses in for trials. During the trials and vet out she was honest and up front, thorough in her examination and helpful in giving fact based opinions (over my emotional ones) about the health of each horse. She never did excessive testing just to charge me more money which I appreciated, especially if the horse was not a healthy fit.
Once we found the right horse, my Lola, I would only allow Dr. Lauri to treat her. And since my girl is a delicate flower, I am calling the office often. Dr. Lauri and her staff have been wonderful to work with, always responding quickly if an emergency and always handling my girl with care. If the matter isn't urgent and she feels I am able to treat the issue myself, she gives me her advice on what to do and it's handled.
I could not be happier with Woods End, and highly recommend Dr. Lauri if you are in need of an equine vet!!
Dr. Laurie and her staff are excellent. Thanks to her, our miniature donkey is healed of a fractured hock and walking well today. She took the time to diagnose and guide us through care of her and she rejoiced in her healed leg just as much as we did. She knew when she came to float our horse's teeth this week that Rock would be less nervous with his little donkey friend nearby and thus require less sedation. It worked. We appreciate a vet that takes into account the comfort and trust of her equine patients; that is important to us.
12/06/16: Not sure why this is coming in under our daughter's name but I am Pam Houskeeper and my husband Doug and myself continue to be pleased with Dr. Laurie's service. She is always quick to come when we need her for our horse and/or miniature donkey and she treats them with great care. She goes the extra mile to diagnose and consult when she needs more information. Our little donkey healed from a pathological fracture and now is on a special calcium supplement thanks to Dr. Laurie.
What would I do without Dr. Lauri?? She has been taking care of my 3 miniature donkeys for many years. She is an extremely competent, thorough, knowledgeable, compassionate veterinarian and a warm and caring human being. She keeps my little guys in good health and responds immediately to my emergencies. Her staff is top notch. I consider myself very fortunate to have her as my vet.
I have used Woods End Equine (Dr. Lauri) for both routine well-horse visits, and a few emergency farm calls. She has been very easy to reach, dependable, professional, and helpful in every way. I really appreciate the fact that she and her assistant, Kerri, have even come out in the worst weather. Our horses are like family members to us and I know their health is in good hands now that I've found Dr. Lauri. I definitely recommend Woods End Equine.
