Had herniated disks in my neck that needed ACDF surgery. Dr. Darakchiev came highly recommended by several friends and family. Had a great experience with him and his office staff who are all very patient and considerate. Beautiful office on montauk hwy to boot. Can't recommend Dr. Darakchiev enough.

Had a spinal fusion done by Dr.Darakchiev in February. The initial visit was nerve wrecking but he made me feel incredibly comfortable. He was able to answer all questions I had regarding the surgery and the recovery. The staff was very nice and able to answer questions and help with everything I needed.

Dr. Darakchiev is truly an excellent doctor. He is very knowledgeable and answered all questions my husband and I had prior to his spinal fusion surgery. He clearly is the best surgeon. There are not enough words to express how appreciative I am for what he did for my husband. I highly recommend him. Thanks to Dr. Darakchiev my husband is back to feeling whole again. I would also like to thank his staff and Nikki for all their help, which made this process seamless.

Never in a million years would I have thought I would say I had cervical spinal fusion, but here I am, a little over 2 weeks, post-op and sitting on a beach with zero pain. After a fall in May 2021, I fractured L1 and L2. That took 3 months to heal, no surgical intervention. At month 4, I started noticing severe shoulder pain and my left arm kept going numb. After all tests to rule things out, my doctors informed me that I had extremely herniated and bulging disks in my cervical spine, C6, C7 and C8. I had spinal epidurals done and was told if the second shot did not work, fusion was my last options. I said no way. Thankfully, the 2nd one did the trick. For 2 years. In April 2024, out of the blue, I started experiencing the same symptoms. I figured I could get through the summer until one day I couldn’t. I was in the ER, admitted and having fusion the next day. 3 titanium disks, a metal cage and 8 screws. I had heard of botched spinal fusions where people ended up in more pain than they started with and more crippled. I was highly against having this surgery, but again, until the day I had no other choice. The strength in my left arm and hand had diminished to such an alarming rate, so much so, that I could hardly form a fist. As a physically active person, all of this took such toll on me. Being referred to Dr. Darakchiev was literally the best thing that could have aver happened. A friend of mine had the same surgery (ACDF), and could not have had a better outcome and referred me to Dr. Darakchiev. Just calling and making an appointment to see him, EVERYONE was amazingly nice! His assistant, she is beyond sweet and caring. She too had Dr. Darakchiev preform surgery on her and she told me, SHOULD I need it, he is the best. Now 2 people that vouched for him. I was able to see him within a week! I met with him and I cannot emphasize enough his compassionate and caring demeanor. He took the time to listen and discussed all of my concerns. I’ve had numerous other surgeries and none of them were easy. If something could go wrong, it did. However, all of the possible complications that could happen with this surgery, I had zero. I was eating dinner that night with no issues. He is so thorough and patient. He came to visit me daily in the hospital as did his PA. They made sure I was comfortable at all times. I cannot tell you what an amazing experience this was. From the second I woke up from surgery, the debilitating pain I was enduring daily, was gone! He told me everything I could expect after surgery and things to look out for. I could not recommend Dr. Darakchiev enough. I refer everyone I meet with the same issues to him. From the unbelievably supportive and caring staff, to one of the most intelligent, superior, nicest Neurosurgeons, Dr. Darakchiev has my gratitude forever.
