Brookhaven Gastroenterology Associates

I want to express that my recent visit to Brookhaven Gastroenterology was an experience beyond what I could have ever imagined. During my appointment with Dr. Rahul Bajaj, I was struggling with difficulty breathing and chest pressure. As I was trying to manage through the appointment, I spoke with the nurse who was taking my vitals. She promptly called for the doctor, who showed immense compassion and treated me as if I were family.
Initially respecting my suggestion to possibly go to urgent care, he made the call only to find out that they could not assist me and that I needed to go to the hospital for the best care. Concerned about my vehicle being in the parking lot and how I would get it there after the appointment, Dr. Bajaj immediately offered to drive my car to the hospital himself, while having one of his staff members follow him. He ensured I had the keys and informed me where my car would be parked. He took the time to step away from his duties to guarantee that I received proper care.
It is rare to find a doctor who goes above and beyond like this; the level of care I received was truly extraordinary. I want to extend my gratitude to Dr. Rahul Bajaj and his team for their support during my time of need and for guiding the necessary steps for my health. Although I have known Dr. Bajaj for several years, this experience reinforced how much he genuinely cares for his patients. I am immensely grateful for this practice, and I deeply appreciate the nurses and staff for their hospitality and dedication. Their willingness to go the extra mile will always be remembered. Thank you, Dr. Bajaj, and thank you to the wonderful nursing staff for everything.

Let's start this by saying I'm not the most compliant patient in the world. Between medical/ white coat anxiety and the millions of excuses of a busy life, it's easy to put my health last. This is one of the exceedingly few doctors that competently and nurturingly pick up my slack and give me the confidence to come in again.

Big thanks to Dr. Bajaj and his staff for making the environment one of overall care and compassion with just enough strict education to get me to follow through. I am appreciative. Highly recommend.

I’ve been using this office for 7 years. The only times I see Dr Sano is for colonoscopies. Been satisfied with PA Pam, she is kind and listens. But now I am having very concerning issues with unexplained weight loss-over 40lbs!! My primary, also quite concerned had her Assistant call to set up an appt with Dr Sano, not Pam this time. Both he and Pam booked at least through the end of May!! Unbeknownst to me, my primary called the office re: having to make the appt sooner. I only found this out when Sano’s office called me with an appt. next week. Yesterday, the appt desk calls totally confused. How did I get the appt? They see it there but no one cops to knowing how that could be because he can’t fit me in!! Couldn’t even see Pam till early June! I wasn’t happy ( particularly since the girl was seemingly not concerned.) Oh and I am an over 65 cancer survivor. I was left on hold (1 lengthy.) I told her I cannot wait that long and will go elsewhere. She asked that I give her today to see what could be done and she’ll call me today. So here I am ( my primary is not in today.) In the meantime, I got 2 personal recco’s for Gastro MD’s. Just reading what I just wrote, I’m going make an appt with 1 now!

I have been a patient at this office for over 40 years (I started when I was 17 years old) starting with stomach ulcers.
I had a colonoscopy today and Dr. Pillai and staff were amazing. First greeting by nurses, Chris & Amanda, great personalities and made me very comfortable. Then I met Edie, she was 5 stars herself (I remembered her from my last endoscopy a few years back) .
Overall, great experience as always.

However, if I based my stars on my previous visit with the PA April, it would be 1 star. I prefer to see the Dr. , did not enjoy my brief experience with her.
