We recently purchased a Grand Piano from Costa Piano Shoppes and I cannot say enough good things about Michael and Suzanne Costa, the owners. After searching online and visiting all the piano stores on long island we decided to purchase the perfect piano from them. From the first time I met with them it was apparent they were very knowledgeable and interested in making sure that we purchased the correct piano for our family's needs at the budget we could afford. There was no high pressure sales tactics at all. I would highly recommend to anyone even thinking about purchasing a new or used piano to stop by there before you make a decision.
Taught for 5-6 years. They helped me start my career in music education, and have always been completely honest in advice about quality, price and services. Great family owned and operated business, been around for decades. I bought my Brodman from them, and they'll be the sole servicers of it for as long as I can have them. I 110% trust them with my piano. Great family, quality services and fair, reasonable, educated pricing. I wouldn't trust anyone else other than Mike and Sue with my tunings or services.
Michael tuned, cleaned, repaired my baby grand, to like new or even better condition. He has been tuning and playing pianos since he was 14 and knew every working part on my piano. He repaired several sticky keys and even knew how to repair the QRS player piano system. He is very friendly to deal with and would highly recommend him.
Michael Costa, the owner of Costa Piano Shoppes, is one of the most knowledgeable people you will ever meet when it comes to pianos. He has a passion for all things music, especially pianos, and has spent his entire life and career immersed in sharing that passion.
Michael painstakingly, patiently and lovingly restored my father’s 100 year old baby grand piano. This was not an easy or ordinary restoration—it involved dismantling and removing old, moldy unrepairable player piano components. Michael approached it not as a job, but as if the piano was his own family heirloom. He not only disposed of the unusable player parts, he cleaned any remaining mold with bleach, replaced all the strings and pins, polished all the brass trim and gave the wood new life with a French rubbed oil finish. The piano looks and sounds incredible.
My dad passed away two years ago and his piano, which he learned to play on at the age of five in 1928, has tremendous sentimental value. Michael has helped restore this family treasure so we can enjoy it for decades to come. Thank you, Michael.
I recently began learning to play the piano, and I desired to step up from a digital keyboard to a true acoustic instrument. I'm glad that I stopped at Costa Piano Shoppes after reaching out to Suzanne over the phone. After speaking to both Suzanne and Michael, I selected a fantastic upright for my living room, which I feel that I got at a good price. I felt as though Michael and Suzanne were there to answer any questions I had, with Suzanne even providing me her number, and was excited to make a purchase. Suzanne even helped out a ton with the financing, which I appreciated. Less than a week later, Michael tuned my selected piano and delivered it to my house at no charge. I look forward to seeing the Costas again over the years as I have my piano tuned. As for now, I'm enjoying my practice sessions more than ever! Thanks!
