I sat at the bar and was greeted warmly by Alicia. I ordered the lobster bisque as an appetizer and the bisque part was delicious, however the lobster was a 1/2 (if that) of the tail. Not even chopped up or anything. When I went to cut it, it was very tough and rubbery (should have been a red flag there). I then ordered the risotto with scallops and mushrooms....scallops were over cooked, rubbery, and hard to cut....same as the mushrooms, as if they were dehydrated and not hydrated all the way, just really chewy and hard. Hardly any seasoning either. I just went ahead and ate it bc I didn't want to wait for something else.
The drinks and dessert though...delicious. Great drink specials and Happy Hour specials.
I am willing to try again, just not any seafood... will stick with "bar food" or try their brunch.
Where to begin? Awesome food, friendly staff and fast service, did I mention the food? So good and next time I'm in this area I'm definitely going there. The Mexican coffee was as delicious as it was beautiful. The selection of draft beer is great. My burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were phenomenal. Jazzy music set the perfect mood. Thank you!
This place was a random stop on our way home—and it turned out to be incredible! The food was so good. The burger was huge, the chicken was full of flavor, and the side salad was perfectly done. A hidden gem for sure.
10 stars because 5 just isn’t enough! Absolutely SPECTACULAR! Came in from Buffalo for the night. Could’ve went anywhere but saw Fat Sals pop up on my Google maps. I saw they did sea food and burgers with pasta entrees. We liked the variety of the menu and come on, how can you not try a place called Fat Sals?! Wife and I went with our baby, made reservations for 6:45pm and we were immediately greeted and sat. Beautifully decorated and comfortable seating. Some TVs for sports and wall art to match the interior. Cozy hometown type of feeling. Looking around the locals knew each other and said hi as they came or went. My wife and I ordered sweet tea and water. True sweet sun tea like you’d get in the south. We started with the lobster bisque soup and the Bavarian pretzel with jalapeño beer cheese. Large chunks of lobster in the soup served with oyster crackers on the side. GIANT hot and soft pretzel on a hook with warmed beer cheese. The pretzel was seasoned and salted to perfection and the jalapeño dip was just excellent. For dinner we both went with the applewood smoked bacon and cheddar burger, cooked medium. I went with fries for my side and she did onion rings. We got a side order of their toasted Mac and cheese to split. The burger came out cooked perfectly which is a rarity these days. My fries were thick like steak fries with a crunchy outside but soft inside. Probably my all time favorite fry I’ve had. The burger was PLENTY big enough for me and I’m 6’10”. The Mac and cheese was just perfect with the bread crumb topping. You can order the Mac and cheese as an entree but we really wanted to try the burgers so I’m glad they make it an option to order it as a side (additional charge). I forgot to take a pic of the Mac and cheese but it looked so good I dug right in and stopped half way for the photo. For dessert we went with the hot fudge brownie with ice cream and even that was a dream. Forgot a picture of that for obvious reasons lol. This is how brownie sundaes are supposed to be served! Wait staff was very friendly and tended to our needs as we dined with them. Can’t wait to visit again, we may even go back for lunch before leaving town. This is a must try if you’re in the area or passing through.
I stopped just because it was Fat Sal's Bar and Grill!! I travel for work and this was my 1st trip into New York and well with a name like that just had to stop.
The service was on point the food was next level amazing. Even the other customers were welcoming and engaging.
