I can't say enough good things about everyone who took care of my mom. They were at her home within an hour of getting back from the hospital, explained everything to us, and came back three times in the next four days. They kept her pain free and allowed her to spend her last few days at home surrounded by her family in such a dignified way Unfortunately she didn't make it much further but we were so touched by the care they took from her. They made made a bad situation so much easier. Angels on earth.

Taking care of a terminally ill loved one at home is extremely challenging. I often didn't feel supported by hospice staff. I also felt they didn't have the medical experience of a patient with brain metastases. In addition, the doctor didn't evaluate my husband until 3 weeks after he'd entered hospice care. I personally feel that hospice policies need to improve and add more services and help for the caregiver family members.

I am only rating Orange and Sullivan 2 stars to give the chaplains and nurses some credit due to their attentiveness. Other then that as a grieving family losing our mother this has been by far the worst experience and customer service we ever received as a family. As a grieving daughter I am beyond disappointed with the social workers department and I am beyond disappointed with the 3 contract company for oxygen equipment and other equipment items. My mom passed away on a Sunday, and I have been calling every second to have the equipment removed from the home due to it being much harder for us to see an empty bed during this grieving process. The equipment employee Bruce called me after 2 days to only tell me that they will be picking up the equipment the following day. I expressed to Bruce that we need the equipment out of here immediately and how terrible it has been grieving and looking at a bed my mom laid on. I did tell him if they did not come immediately the equipment would be out on the curb and his response was “well that’s Ghetto i’ll come today 11/12/2024 to pick it up then.” by far the worst and inconsiderate team. I would have rather never opened the door for any of these folks besides the chaplains since my mom is so religious. If you have a family member who is going on hospice please avoid this corporation under any circumstances. - The Tolentino Family

I can't begin to thank the wonderful, caring people of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan! My mother's health was steadily declining the last few months of her life. They came in and showed her such care and compassion and helped to lift her spirits. They offered my family support so that we could take better care of my mom and ourselves. In her final hours, my mom seemed comfortable and at peace. Thanks doesn't seem enough for all the care they gave her and advice they gave us when we asked. I would like to thank people by name but do not want to miss anyone because they were all fantastic and I'm afraid of missing anyone. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Gratefully, the family of Dolores Metcalfe
