First visit to Il Posto, although we have lived not far for 30 years; the place is a bit off the beaten path. And I don’t know what we were waiting for. The place is terrific.
Easy to park in the street, and seated immediately at our choice of tables. Separate room for the bar.
Old looking, very clean and classy place (two white tablecloths), with comfortable chairs. Our server, Christian, could teach a class in how to be perfect at the job. Plus the food was simply delicious. Chicken Parm. Shrimp Risotto. Chocolate Mousse. All just perfect.
We look forward to our next visit! ♿️
Everything was great from the food, to the service and atmosphere.. the only unfortunate thing which had nothing to do with the restaurant was my wife becoming ill before we ever even got our food , So she just sat there and watched the rest of us have a great meal, when she wasn’t in the rest room . This definitely put a damper on our experience but again having nothing at all to do with the restaurant…we will go back again for sure
I post ad nauseam about supporting local businesses, especially dining establishments. Indulge me today as I wax poetic about Il Posto Ristorante (@ 7409 Avenue U). Valentine’s Day was quite an event @ Il Posto. The menu was attractively presented with a variety of choices. The romantic atmosphere was courtesy of a beautifully adorned table setting. The food is amazing; the service is attentive; entertainment on weekends is top notch. Christian is our favorite server, but Fernando, Luis and Marcos are close seconds. Rounding out the staff, Gregory is the manager while Ramona and Mike bartend. For historians, Il Posto is the successor to the Gran Torino and End East restaurants.
Nice restaurant, very good impression. Waiters are very very helpful, paying attention to your requests and overall pleasant people. Food is nice, typical to a good Italian restaurant. I liked mozzarella carrozza, calamari not so much, steak was good, large plate, veal parmesan was nice, thin while juicy.
My family and I go here whenever we want a fancier meal without strict dress code or difficult to get reservations.
I highly recommend the lamb chops, I order them every single time. I've literally never had lamb chops as good as they are here, even when I prepare them myself. My wife nearly always gets the T-bone steak and it is a fantastic, massive piece of steak. The veal is also extremely good.
For dessert I recommend the tartufo, it's excellent and just the right amount of you want a large dessert and perfect to share on a date for a smaller portion.
My only real critique is that the music can be a bit too loud on some nights, sometimes a live singer and sometimes a DJ. I find it a bit difficult to hear one another speak at the table sometimes; however, if you plan to have a few drinks and dance to some disco era music maybe it will be a plus for you. They have a full bar as well.
There is usually street parking nearby, it's a mostly residential area in a pretty low-crime neighborhood.
