My mom has been in the rehab 2 days now and the staff has been very nice to my mom. Nurse Sharron was very helpful to all my needs for my mom. Thx again everyone!
While my wife's major health problems, stemming from difficulties recovering from complications from an operation (along with other physical maladies), resulted in a relatively long confinement in a nursing/rehabilitation home, her stay at Luxor at Mills Pond Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for 4 1/2 months was made so much less stressful due to the exceptionally professional, kind, competent, empathetic care she received from the well-trained staff there. Worthy of special mention and commendation are Anna and Nick, her physical and occupational therapists, who gladly gave of their time answering my many questions and inquiries about my wife's progress and how to maintain it during her stay at Luxor; moreover, on numerous occasions, exhibiting what I would deem an exceptional personal interest in her case. Both I and my wife have experienced stays in a number of hospitals and nursing homes over the years and, from what I could see, the therapy she received at Luxor from Anna and Nick was superior to any others in the past. In addition, the kind and regular attention given to my wife's care and needs on a daily basis by Dawn Dahlem (a charge nurse on her floor) and her favorite aid, Salisha Hakim (who treated my wife as if she were family), helped make the first steps in my wife's long and difficult recovery all the more more bearable because of the cheerful attitude and empathy they regularly exuded. Last, but certainly not least, note must be taken of the frequent, helpful advice and assistance provided to me--especially in navigating the often lengthy, complex process of dealing with the intricacies of long term health care insurance policies--by Catherine Locastro in the business office and Lucille Preziotti, my wife's assigned social worker.
My mother stayed at this rehab and we did have some difficulties with this stay but overall Luxor is much better than other facilities. Marjorie was outstanding with my mom. They do keep the facility clean overall. Some staff need better bed side manners and others are very nice. Luxor is actually the better of the facilities after seeing what others look like. This place is actually the ritz Carlton compared to others.
My husband has been at Luxor for two months .
We were very happy with the care, the facility,
And the atmosphere. A kind, loving staff,
An excellent PT department, a warm atmosphere , entertainment, even live music!
At discharge, I felt like we were leaving Family.
My first time visiting a friend who's been a patient for two weeks. He said it's been a very good experience. My impression is that it's a bright, warm facility with a friendly staff. They seem to interact well with the patients I've seen in the common areas and all the patients appear to be well taken care of. The facility is bright and very clean. I was impressed.
