We visited Lyndhurst Mansion on a snowy winter day, and it honestly felt magical. Because of the weather, not all staff members were able to get in, but a special staff member stepped in to make sure the tours could still happen and that effort really meant a lot. You could feel how much care and dedication goes into this place.

The Christmas decorations were beautifully done: elegant, tasteful, and perfectly in harmony with the mansion’s historic interiors. They say “better than Macy’s” and I agree. Nothing felt overdone; instead, it added warmth and life to the house and made the experience even more special.

Outside, the snow transformed everything. The mansion, the grounds, and the Hudson views looked absolutely crystal-like, peaceful, and breathtaking. one of those rare moments when nature and architecture come together perfectly.

Inside, some of the furniture, paintings, and porcelain pieces are truly stunning. There were moments when you just wanted to stop and quietly admire the beauty and craftsmanship. Check the pictures with Tiffany clock, lamp and stained glass; Meissen porcelain, Steinway, specially crafted furniture, etc

This visit felt personal and memorable, not rushed or commercial. Huge appreciation to the staff for showing up and making it possible despite the weather. If you ever have the chance to visit Lyndhurst in winter, especially around the holidays…don’t miss it.
Will come back in the spring

Gorgeous mansion!!! Highly recommend it!!! Had an amazing time, the tour guide was such a sweet and knowledgeable lady! She answered all of my questions about the place, the history of it and the people who used to live there!! I took some amazing photos! The tour was about 1 hour and after it I walked for an other hour around the property. There is parking at the mansion, just follow the signs!

We visited during the Gothic weekend. From the gothic mansion itself to the gorgeous grounds, everything was so lovely and well organized. They have shuttle buses if you park far. Parking organized and there is also a trail if you want to walk along the Hudson. Views gorgeous in the fall. There was a gothic market and tasting room that was awesome. The Headless Horseman was also making the rounds! Everything is so well thought out and planned. The staff is so friendly and kind. An EXTRA SPECIAL THANK YOU TO JOSE AND DAVID who work on the grounds! When we went back to the car, I had a flat tire. Jose and David came to my rescue and patched it. They were tireless and went above and beyond to help. My Mom and I made it safely back to Queens thanks to them! God Bless you Jose and David! Thank you! ❤️

The Lyndhurst Mansion is simply breathtaking and a true treasure of the Hudson Valley. The Gothic Revival architecture is stunning, creating a dramatic and picturesque silhouette against the river. Walking through the estate, you immediately appreciate the incredible preservation of its opulent interiors and gorgeous grounds. Our tour offered fascinating insights into the lives of the families who resided there, making the history feel palpable and engaging. The staff were fantastic, and the views of the Hudson River from the property are spectacular. A truly unforgettable stop for history and architecture lovers alike!

Classic mansion tour was great! This gilded age mansion has original furniture and is like stepping into the past. The grounds feel expansive but we could walk on our own without any kind of grounds tour and I don’t think we missed much. The day we went the bowling alley building was open with an interpreter there to answer questions so definitely make sure you wander down the hill!

I had hoped the greenhouse would be restored since it’s on the map but it is not. The rose garden is nice but the greenhouse is just the foundations of one without any plants so don’t plan to spend much time there. But the rest of the lawn is stunningly maintained.
