The Victorian Christmas Tour at the Octagon House was an absolute delight. Every room reflected an extraordinary level of care and attention, showcasing the beautifully detailed restoration that truly honors the home’s history. It’s clear that there is immense pride of ownership—each space feels thoughtfully preserved, warm, and inviting rather than staged.

What made the tour especially memorable was how seamlessly the stories of Victorian Christmas traditions were woven throughout the experience. The guides brought the season to life by connecting décor, customs, and historical context in a way that felt both educational and heartfelt. From period-accurate decorations to meaningful explanations of holiday practices, the tour captured the spirit of Christmas past while remaining engaging and accessible.

This is more than a house tour—it’s an immersive seasonal experience that reflects dedication, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for history. A must-see for anyone who appreciates Victorian architecture, restoration, and the timeless magic of Christmas. 🎄

The Octagon house is a very interesting house tour! Its of Victorian period and has been beautifully restored to maintain the classic beauty and architectural interest throughout. Today it was decorated in Christmas splendor. I loved seeing the Victorian themed ornaments throughout the home. It inspires me to want to make some. Our tour guide (I believe his name was Max) was very knowledgeable about the history of the home, its residents, and the historical notes of the time. He pointed out many fascinating elements of restoration and renovation as we moved along the tour. There are several steep staircases so those with mobility limitations should avoid the tour. Cost is about $38.00 pp and the tour takes just about an hour.

Probably the coolest historic home I have ever been to. My family and I visited in October from Colorado, we are a family of history and home lovers. We saw several historic homes on our trip to the area and tend to go on tours of historic homes on all of our vacations. When I say this is the coolest historic home we have been to I do not say so lightly. We hope to return and do the restoration tour one day. The love and detail poured into the restoration is this house is palpable. Don’t miss it!

Visiting the Armour-Stiner Octagon House was an absolute delight and a genuinely unique experience. The architecture is simply stunning—stepping inside is like traveling back to a bygone era, with every floor offering a new surprise. From the distinctive dome and cupola to the meticulously preserved period interiors, the house is a feast for the eyes. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of the house and its eccentric owners to life with engaging stories. If you appreciate architectural history or are just looking for a truly memorable site, this house is a must-see. Highly, highly recommended!

had wanted to visit the Armour–Stiner Octagonal House for at least a year. Originally, I wanted to come during Christmas, but since the classic tours are very early in the day, the Halloween “Seasonal” tour was perfect for me. I chose the “Myths and Mysteries” version and took my parents — we had an amazing time.

Our guide, Mary, was absolutely fantastic — she’s so thorough and clearly knows everything about the house. She masters the tour 100%. It was engaging from start to finish.

The house is decorated in an incredible way. It’s impressive how many octagonal details there are inside, and how the interior design makes every space feel like part of a shared experience with the visitor.

It’s absolutely worth it. I recommend buying tickets at least one day in advance if you plan to go on a weekend. I’d love to visit again for the Christmas season — and maybe even a classic daytime tour.

I’m in love with the house. Honestly, I’d love to live there one day lol
