Got a few rolls of film developed here and they came out great! One of them had even been expired like 20+ years so I had very little hope for the photos, but Jim did such a good job and they look fantastic. 10/10 honestly

Had a bit of a communication issue but overall the owner is really sweet and the processed photos came out great :-)

Got a recommendation from a friend to see if this place could fix a film camera I found at a thrift store and my old digital camera, which was having some issues.

Needless to say I took it here and was greeted by Sarah and her fidget spinners that my son could not keep his eyes off of.
She gave me a form to fill out and I left my stuff with her and waited to hear from the camera man Jim.

Didn’t hear from anyone for a couple of weeks, and then I called the number and almost immediately received a text from Jim.

You can literally ask Jim ANYTHING ABOUT CAMERAS and he will have a response. Maybe bc I’m green and new to photography I say he knows everything, but every question I had, he had an answer for.

So to make this long story short, Jim helped identify the problem with my digital camera and then told me that the film camera I brought in he was not worth fixing, but he interestingly had the almost exact same film camera (same camera, older model). I am excited to start my journey in photography, it was always something I wanted to do but was locked in with school and basketball. Back then I didn’t think anything else existed outside of playing basketball and now I know that it wasn’t true.

The location is small, but the things housed inside are unique.

I have know the owner Jim for 25+ years and he is a brother to me. Jim has been repairing broken items as long as I can remember. He is the guy to take your broken camera gear to in order to get an honest repair or CLA.

I teach photography at the High School level (partially because of a passion that he helped me discover) and we now have a working relationship revolved around Photography. Whenever I have questions- I consult Jim.

Mamakating Photo’s prices are very fair from processing to gear, and the quality of the work is top notch. I continue to use their services for film development and the results are consistent and reliable. Black and white C-41, and color reversal- all done with quality chemistry and professional machinery. I cannot more highly recommend Mamakating Photo!

Jim, the owner is amazingly knowledgeable and extremely patient. He provides excellent care to your equipment and excellent customer service to you as the customer. He will really take his time to answer your questions and make sure that you are well taken care of in his store . The manager of the Photoshop, Sarah, is also amazing, they both are so friendly. I think one of the best things as a photographer is that they do their film processing in-house. It's just all around a great location for vintage camera purchases and repairs and to fill your brain with camera knowledge if you need a refresher like I did.
