Just a little over three weeks ago I sustained a terrible fall at home fracturing 6 ribs, compression fx to L2 ( spine) and a punctured lung. The pain was excruciating. We chose to go to Momentum due its reputation for excellent care. It did not disappoint. I was able to talk directly to my doctors, Dr Raza and Raj to formulate a pain management plan so I could get back to normal. in less than 2 days I was able to do rehab, get to a sitting position by myself which let me control my pain. The nursing care was amazing ensuring I was medicated as ordered so I would have least amount of pain as possible. in just a few short days I was ambulating well with a walker, lifting and exercising my arms and legs and getting my strength back. The patience of the especially in those early days was so helpful in maintaining my spirits snd dignity. All CNA s were caring and professional and motivated me to do more and more each day. When you see an organization run so well you have to go to the top! Joe, Allison and Mary Jo I can’t thank you enough. Although i had many nurses, my regulars were always there for me . I want to thank Martha, David, Sharon, Vincent and Franklin for your caring and professional matter, all the aides who took care of me , especially Michelle and Moise, my walking companion, Marie who all not only provided for my physical needs they helped me mentally when I was feeling my worst. I can’t thank you enough. My therapists Melanie and Valerie who were there on the very first days with me, you pushed me to get stronger, work through the pain and keep me motivated. I cannot forget Caroline, Shayla and Rich..The difference in just less than 3 weeks is nothing short of a miracle. To all the nursing supervisors who checked in on me often (Jennifer, Dorothy, Jade, Jim, Nicole and Ali) . To Christina ( Dietician ) for always making sure I had what I needed. To John Forster and staff fir delicious food.,To my Social Work team Dawn and Jacqueline for everything you did. To Jackie Gorman and her team for making transition from the hospital seamless and welcoming. And lastly, but certainly not least the recreation and guest relations Desiree and staff for checking in regularly. For most of us, it is not an experience you necessarily want to have but if you need short term rehab and excellent care, I highly recommend Momentum at South Bay !

So far so good my mom's only been there a few days the place is very clean the workers nurses, doctors, and assistants ect I've dealt with are very friendly and helpful that work there on the second floor, the rooms are nice and spacious. they have a very nice gym for pt, a very nice day-room/Library, dining room, a free Cafe with free Pastries, coffee ect and pizza. They have their own salon and the prices are very reasonable. But like I said it's only been a few days we will see how it goes. I do appreciate the place so far the last place my mom was in east neck nursing home was horrible so momentum is a totally big step up.

My mom just went into Momentum a few days ago. So far the place has been excellent! The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The physical therapy is great. They spent 2 hours with her today. My dad was in a rehab 2 years ago and it was terrible. The staff were rude. They were always so short staffed and patients didn’t get the care they deserve. Momentum so far has been a breathe of fresh air compared to the place my dad was in. I wish I knew about Momentum then. My dad would have gotten better care!

Momentum Rehabilitation in East Islip was the perfect place for my step-dad. They made him do his daily PT to gain his strength which is what he was there for. They have a beautiful gym.
The staff is so welcoming! They hold community events where everyone is welcome. They will give you a tour upon request. They were also very helpful with insurance and helped my mom so much.
And the free bakery is a big plus!

Upon arrival I became aware of how clean the welcoming area was and it continued throughout the building. The reception area was thorough in having visitors sign in. The ambiance was very welcoming. What I found most intriguing was the smiles on the staff and patients alike. My friend who is in rehabilitation there commented on the pleasant staff and how she enjoys the food.
It is comforting knowing your loved ones are surrounded by kindness and good care.
