We needed shade solutions for our main bedroom, office, and enclosed balcony in our new apartment. We’ve had Hunter Douglas products before and have been pleased with them but needed a vendor for the design and installation. My on-line search led us to the Newburgh Window Shop and Greg Dawes. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive and consistent, which was a great start.
From the first contact with Greg on the phone, to his consultation visit and subsequent order and installation, Greg was a complete professional, respectful and easy to work with. His recommendations showed an eye for design, and an appreciation for the practical aspects of our window treatment needs.
Our apartment faces south and is very sunny and bright, which we love. However, that also comes with very early morning light and intense heat, especially in the summer. Greg recommended blackout shades for the main bedroom and office, and screen roller shades for the balcony. The blackout shades have done wonders keeping our bedroom dark until a reasonable hour and have helped me sleep better. The screen shades on the balcony have just the right amount of light and heat diffusion, striking the right balance of privacy without compromising our wonderful views.

If you’re looking for a quality installation and impeccable customer service, then this is the place. My wife was looking to have our bedroom darker in the mornings to sleep better and we were originally looking at blinds or curtains. Greg came across the river to us and immediately we knew that his company was going to meet our needs. He has a gift for making suggestions to beautify the room he’s working on. He is so friendly that you feel as if he’s part of your family. The installation of our 3 Roman shades was seamless. He even suggested a dust ruffle and pillow shams made from the same shade material in order to blend the room together. He was right! He also recommended a shade for a rear entry door instead of the curtain option that we had been considering. Again, Greg knows his field. He could have easily went along with our idea but he went the extra yard. We highly recommend him without reservations.
