Alec has been my teacher for the last 2 years and I cannot recommend him enough. It’s easy to find talented guitar players to learn from but it’s a rare thing to find one who is also an excellent teacher. As a songwriter myself, Alec tailors the lessons to my needs and has helped me progress exponentially in technique and music theory knowledge.
Alec was my first guitar teacher. I realize now what a fortunate stroke of luck it was that I randomly was paired with him to begin my guitar journey. His guitar playing is incredible! But what really makes him stand out is his excellence as a teacher. He listens carefully, notices small yet important details, and offers insightful feedback on improving your playing and ear. Alec sees and helps to bring out the musician within you at all levels.
I really mean it when I say Alec changed my life. He is the guitarist's guitarist in the NYC music community, and a truly committed teacher. We are about to hit the beginning of our 3rd year together and he has demonstrated this commitment throughout the years.
I am approaching fret board mastery, my ear has developed, I am building a strong understanding of western music theory without letting it get in the way of authentic playing, I have been actively improvising with other musicians, and have started performing regularly doing solo guitar.
Alec provides an opportunity to grow and be pushed to higher levels with the guitar. And during times when I want to move away from NYC I remember that I don't want to leave him.
Having been a student of Alec's for over 4 years now, I can wholeheartedly say that he is one of the best guitar teachers out there. My playing has improved an incredible amount throughout the years I've been with him, and I wouldn't recommend anyone but Alec for guitar lessons.
I have been a student of Alec for about 7+ years now and he is a fantastic teacher, truly a master of his craft. He is one of the most friendliest and kindest guys you will ever meet and the one on one lessons create a special bond that bring guitar skills to the next level.
