The criminally low rating of this hotel is due to the very old (~10 yrs) comments/ratings. I stayed here for two days and the hotel has been renovated. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. It is in a very good, safe neighborhood. It is an absolute steal for the price.

I will say that the room was tiny, which I didn’t mind at all, because it’s NYC and I only went to the hotel to sleep at night.

Attached a picture of the room view. I loved my stay

Good location that it’s well connected to the main attractions in Manhattan. Subway station 3 blocks away, you can rest easily since there isn’t a lot of traffic around, great views of the river from the room. Friendly and helpful staff. The only downside would be that the rooms are pretty small and even for only two people can feel a bit crowded.

The customer service was fine — not particularly kind, but not rude either. It was the bare minimum you’d expect from New York City’s famously hostile style of service… except for the ladies working during the day, who were exceptionally kind and pleasant.

The hotel itself was decent, pretty much what you’d expect for the high NYC prices. What you’re really paying for here is the location — the neighborhood is nice, close to Central Park, and, well, it’s Manhattan after all.

The room was tiny, with no breakfast included, and the Wi-Fi didn’t reach the room (and wasn’t working in the lobby either). Everything seemed clean, though, and there were enough towels and basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap.

Great hotel with nice friendly staff, and for a 2 star hotel is a pleasant surprise on our overall experience, we've enjoyed our stay and will come back next time. Great neighbourhood and good access to subway but also a nice walking distance to main attractions (if you don't mind walking a bit). The free coffee until 11am and tea 24hr was a great touch. Thanks to Miguel and the rest of the team :).

I spent sometime reading some other reviews and my impression is that they were expecting a 4 or 5 star hotel rooms.. recommend this hotel 100% as it was great value for money.

Great Location, nice staff, pretty neighborhood & quiet. Zabars nearby for breakfast (can really recommend!). The rooms are small and the beds as well, we stayed for 8 nights which is quiet long but we managed. Honestly it‘s really good value compared to the rest of NY but be aware of the small space. I don’t get the bad reviews because obviously you know beforehand that the rooms going to be small. Would recommend Twin Beds instead of a double
