Schooner Inn recently hosted my son's wedding. I cannot say enough about how well the two day event turned out.
The first day the staff decorated and transformed the restaurant into a wedding venue. That evening we had the rehearsal dinner and the staff helped us put the finishing touches that needed to be done before the wedding day. Everyone at Schooner was so patience and had great attention to our details.
On the day of the wedding, everyone, including the owner lent a hand in making the day very special for everyone.
Our guests raved about the food, venue and staff.
We could not have asked for a better Fire Island experience for a wedding.
My recommendation - if you are looking to host a Fire Island event with a great water view and a vibe that can be both relaxed, yet still formal and professional - this is your place .

Food selection is typical for Fire Island. Taste and portion sizes have noticeably improved since last year.

It is a very relaxing atmosphere to have a meal while admiring the views of the Great South Bay. There is plenty of covered outdoor seating. While there is a large bar area, the restaurant is suitable for any age group.

What you see is what you get! A beautiful view of the water but the pizza was just ok! The square slice was better than the round slice

The Schooner Inn is a hidden gem, it's a beautiful restaurant with a private beautiful small beach overlooking the Great South Bay. They have delicious drinks, always music, a beautiful tropical bar with flowers for ambiance. There's a pizza place and they serve delicious food. Not gourmet, but very good none the less for a beach side restaurant
The staff is great. Owners Paulie, Megan Dennis. Peter and Anne are first class and the bartenders always serve with a smile. Love this place. It's a must go to for anyone looking for an escape. They also rent water sports and bicycles, and have happy hours every week with a beach bike as a grand prize. You simply gotta go!!!!. (just a ferry ⛴ride away from Bayshore-Maple Ave Ocean Bay Park Terminal )
