One of the better restaurants on Fire Island. The food is delicious and portion sizes are very generous, even if you have a big appetite like myself, you will not leave hungry.
The Wedge Salad, BBQ Ribs, and Chicken Parmesan are particularly good.

This place is peak Ocean Beach!! Adam and Kyle behind the bar are fantastic! Lobster roll was amazing. Definitely recommend!

Unfortunately, our experience at Matthew’s Seafood House was disappointing. The prices felt overly high for the quality of food we received. The mussels were overcooked, and the meat was dry and overdone. Most dishes seemed to be made with low-quality ingredients and were poorly executed by the kitchen. The only standout was the lobster bisque — it was actually quite good. Overall, not a place we’d return to, especially given the high prices and inconsistent food quality.

Even on a rainy, foggy evening, Matthew’s was a fabulous venue offering a delicious meal. My husband and I usually try not to order the same dishes so that we can try as many options as possible, and there were so many options that looked amazing! However, we both ended up choosing the New England clam chowder and the linguine and white clam sauce. They were both excellent choices; tasty with succulent clams!

My new favorite spot in Ocean Beach. Come for the view, stay for the delicious food. Shout outs to Dawn, Olivia, Adam, Kyle, and Matt Jr. Thank you for making my first trip to Fire Island unforgettable. Until next summer. ❤️
