Takamine Karate Dojo is an inspiring place to learn a special style of Karate. Uchi Te Ryu to me is the ultimate self defense. I have tried other styles in the past and found at Takamine karate dojo to be the most authentic. “A way of life” The sensei’s are extremely knowledgeable of hanshi’s teachings and work with me and other students to provide the best experience in learning this special art. I recommend Takamine Karate Dojo to anyone interested in learning a unique and well rounded martial art.
I’ve been training with Hanshi Seiken Takamine for almost 15 years now. As a martial artist with over 45 years of experience I very quickly realized that Takamine Sensei was a very talented martial artist. I continue to train under his guidance at what I call a PhD level of education. Takamine Sensei is passionate about helping his students learn. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in truly understanding how to become a better martial artist.
Hanshi Takamine is the real deal. An instructor with Okinawan roots with over 50 years experience in the martial arts who studied directly under Taika Seiyu Oyata
Fortunate to have him teaching right here in Miller Place.
Stop in to see why this is not your typical karate school
I have trained at the Takamine Karate Dojo for many years. The more I train the more fascinated I am by this art and the more I am impressed by the level of skill and knowledge of Hanshi Takamine. Great school and great people. This is traditional Okinawan martial arts and self defense at it's finest. Perfect place to study for anyone regardless of age or skill level. I am in my sixties and continue to train because of the many health and cognitive benefits derived from this art not to mention learning self defense. This is a life protection art on many levels. One on one training focused on self defense. Okinawan martial arts, main instructor is from Okinawa which shows in his training. You leave class feeling good and that you learned something special. Teachers are really good with the kids as well, would definitely recommend you trying them out.
