My experience at this restaurant was amazing! Christian our waiter made sure to keep us happy. He was very pleasant, and attentive. The restaurant itself had a beautiful view, the food and drinks were delicious! We had appetizers, dinner and desert.
If you're chasing that perfect summer vibe — warm breeze, salty air, and cocktails with a view — this beachfront spot delivers it in spades. The atmosphere is laid-back and lively, ideal for unwinding with friends or soaking up the sun solo. Music, ocean views, and good energy make it a standout location when the weather’s right.
That said, the service could use a tune-up. Our table wasn’t clean when we arrived, and asking for it to be wiped down earned us a dash of attitude. Once seated, it took quite a while to place our order and get our drinks, which dulled the mood a bit.
But credit where it’s due — the food was genuinely good. Fresh, flavorful, and satisfying enough to make you forgive the wait. Despite the hiccups, I’d come back for the vibe and the view alone. Just hoping next time the service catches up to the scenery.
I’ve lived in New York my whole life and somehow never knew The Barley Beach House existed—what a hidden gem! The food was outstanding, the service was on point, and everyone working there was super friendly. Whether you’re grabbing a bite or just relaxing by the water, this is definitely the spot to hang out. Already planning my next visit! 🌊🍽️🍹 #HiddenGem #BarleyBeachHouse #RyeNY
I recently hosted my twins' high school graduation party at Barley Beach House, and I have to say, it was an absolute dream come true! We rented out the deck, which turned out to be the perfect spot for our celebration. From start to finish, the entire team—especially Ronni, our event manager, along with Edgar and the owner Chris—was incredible. They made everything so seamless!
The staff that helped set up, served, and broke everything down were proactive and attentive, making sure everything flowed smoothly. I was a bit skeptical about paying for security at first, but let me tell you, it was worth every penny! Tom, the security guard on duty, was fantastic. He kept the uninvited out, while being super friendly and approachable. It really gave us peace of mind to know he was there looking out for us, he really made it worth it.
The planning process was a breeze, and the team was more than accommodating. They helped me execute my vision perfectly, and when the big day arrived, everything went off without a hitch. I truly couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate this milestone.
Thank you, Barley Beach House, for making this day so memorable for my family and friends. I can’t recommend this venue enough—money well spent!
As far as a “beach vibe restaurant” I’m glad there is this restaurant to go to where that is limited in this area of New York.
Definitely opt for a table outside, there are great views of the playland beach. The drinks were pretty good and the food was yummy.
As you can see from the picture, the nachos were the star of the show for me. Definitely order them. The lobster roll was ok, and my friend enjoyed her tempura tacos. Our bill was kind of pricey but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.
