What a spectacular place on so many levels! Our “cabin” was as luxurious as one can get with high end everything including heated floors, jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, and a wall of glass overlooking the snow covered woods. The breakfast included was amazingly delicious and diverse with the 2 lovely kitchen staff going above and beyond to offer me gluten free options such as a decadent chocolate brownie, muffins and French toast. Dinner at their Homestead restaurant was a treat also. To top it all off, the acres of grounds were beautiful to behold. My husband and I snowshoed around their lake which was peaceful and fun. They provided the snowshoes. This weekend vacation at the Eldred Preserve was possibly our best weekend getaway ever! And we have had many! Bravo and well done to everyone there!
Restaurant was lovely and perfect for my husband’s birthday date on 12/29. Unfortunately then it was not. It started with the first impression of the hostess - she needed a bit of sleep or such because she looked very tired and not quite put together. Even at 6am as a retail merchandiser I work on looking professional but in a casual way in case one has to meet with shoppers later on in the morning.
I made a reservation for 12:30pm and she did not bother to look it and instead just put us in a corner seating area. I requested a window but you didn’t even bother to check - what was the point if you don’t honor the request. We are not from the immediate area and read about the Eldred Reserve highly recommended for dining.
My Monte Cristo sat too long and got soggy when brought to table. Pomegranate gin fizz was probably the best thing I had overall.
We want to try this again in the future say early or late summer of 2026 and hope that it goes better with additional staff or something.
We recently had our wedding at The Eldred Preserve, and it was truly the best day of our lives. We couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. From the very beginning, Curtis and Matt were incredible—warm, accommodating, and completely on top of every detail. Their care and professionalism made the entire planning process seamless.
We toured several local venues, but nothing compared to The Eldred. The setting is stunning, the property is spotless, and every staff member we interacted with was wonderful. We were able to take so many beautiful photos in a variety of locations around the property — everywhere you turn is a perfect backdrop.
Our hotel room was beautiful, and the food was outstanding. We were even able to customize our menu, and it turned out exactly the way we envisioned.
We planned our small wedding (25 people) in just about two months, and thanks to Curtis and Matt, it was stress‑free. Our guests were blown away by the venue and couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the food was.
We truly had an amazing day. If you’re looking for a picture‑perfect wedding and a team of people who genuinely care about making it unforgettable, look no further than The Eldred Preserve.
We had such a pleasant stay at this beautiful resort. We love being able to stroll around the lake, it’s truly one of our favorite parts of staying here.
Having an on-site restaurant is wonderful, the happy hour is great, and the breakfast is absolutely amazing. The staff is always so kind and welcoming.
While there was a small mix-up with our room at check-in, the way the team handled it really stood out. They were genuinely apologetic, showed true integrity and care. We appreciate how quickly everything was resolved and how comfortable they made us for the rest of our stay.
We’ve always enjoyed dining at the Eldred Preserve, which is why I chose to book Thanksgiving dinner there for our family. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.
The food was generally okay but lacked anything special. The French onion soup had almost no onions, and while the other appetizers were acceptable, the entrées varied widely. My salmon and a guest’s pork loins were both good and fairly portioned. However, the potato gnocchi was extremely small—closer to an appetizer than a dinner—and came with no vegetables or sides. It was also not very good, which was especially disappointing since it was the only vegetarian entrée available. The turkey dinners were plentiful and moist, though the stuffing missed the mark.
Desserts were the weak point. The carrot cake appeared store-bought with frosting added, and the apple and pumpkin pies were mediocre. We also weren’t offered coffee with dessert and had to ask; it arrived well after we had started eating.
Considering the cost—more than $100 per person once tax, drinks, and tip were included—the experience simply didn’t match the price. We’ll likely return for a regular dinner someday, but I won’t book another holiday meal at the Preserve and will look for alternatives instead.
