Beyond 5 Stars: The Merrow Sets the Standard in Long Beach

Long Beach finally brought in some class and The Merrow is truly the perfect example of that. This restaurant and chic bar has it all: incredible food, standout service, vibey cocktails, amazing music, and an ambiance that makes you want to stay for hours. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and full of good energy.

The staff is unbelievably friendly, sweet, and attentive. They genuinely go above and beyond which elevates the entire experience. The food is outstanding and the fact that they offer vegan and gluten free options is such a huge plus. You can tell how much thought and intention goes into everything from the dishes to the cocktails. Each drink is unique, carefully crafted, and truly one of a kind.

The menu and drink menu frequently change which keeps things exciting and shows how committed they are to evolving and staying creative. The layout of the bar is also so unique and has such a cool flow to it which I love. Everything is decorated so cute for all the holidays and the vibe is always on point no matter the season.

On a hot summer day you can grab drinks outside and enjoy a cold refreshing cocktail with some apps and good music right off the beach. It truly gives that perfect Long Beach energy.
You can even rent out the space for private events or gatherings which makes it an amazing option for celebrations or special nights with friends and family.

I also love the age restricted limit which keeps the crowd elevated and enjoyable. With live DJs, jewelry making classes, candle making nights, and constant events it is the ideal spot for those long winter evenings when you want something fun and local to do.

Could not recommend this place more. Long Beach needed this and The Merrow delivered!!

We love Merrow for the excellent food, craft cocktails and friendly staff. The Happy Hour menu is awesome- sliders, bang bang tacos and extensive drink options. Everything here is made with care and creativity.
Thank you Taylor and Amanda for making our weekly visits feel like we are “coming home.”

The Merrow is a Long Beach gem! Locally owned and operated, it has a welcoming vibe that sets it apart. The happy hour is always a hit, and the menu is packed with great options—whether you're in the mood for a full meal or just small bites. At night, the place really comes alive—easily some of the best nightlife in town. Always a great time here!

We went there a week after the opening and the food service was bad-bad - waited 1 hour to get our starters.
Atmosphere and people are great but very long long time to have food. Cocktails were interesting - a little boozy.
DJ starting at 8pm is too early - we were thinking it will be a nice restaurant but the music was blasting.
We will give another try after the peak season.
Edit: only 3 stars because there were no commercial gestures for the hour wait from the restaurant and one of the glass was not cleaned properly and had to return the cocktail - no gesture neither...
Edit: food was a better but still some progress (glaze on the carrots was too much and too sweet, seasoning on salad is too heavy...) and service was definitely better !! Still a little too expensive for what it is.

Great atmosphere. We had 2 awesome drinks - 1 Bleedin’ Tropic and 1 Watermelon Drank, they were so good. Our friend got the espresso martini and it came with a mini cannoli! So cool. Started off with the wagyu beef sliders, truffle fries, and crispy brussel sprouts all freakin’ amazing. Then had scallops and the lamb lollipops. 10/10. Can’t wait to go back.
