I'm currently still in West Chester Valhalla Hospital. I came thru their ER by ambulance. The Emergency Room team did a great job at quickly assessing what was wrong with me and was able to inform me clearly in terms I could understand. I've been here for some time now, and I can say that this is easily one of the better Hospitals in the area. The floor Nurses are very attentive and the Care Partners are all extremely friendly. Overall they helped to make my stay a little bit better considering the circumstances. The rooms here aren't the largest, and they double up on patients in the rooms, so it makes it seem smaller because of that. The food here could be way better, but hey, it's hospital food.
The Emergency Room staff do their best.
However, I was admitted a couple weeks ago. The nurses in the daytime are super absent and regularly unavailable. Even if you press the button for your nurse, there will be one nurse tending to multiple pple on the floor.
The kitchen staff are fantastic.
The evening/night staff are exceptional and they are attentive to the patients.
My husband was in WMC for two nights because of a small stroke caused by a blood vessel that leaked. It was expected to close on its own but he had to be at a hospital that could operate if necessary. He spent one night in the ICU and one night in a room. Every single member of the hospital staff was excellent -- polite, cheerful, informative. There were logistical issues -- a terrible roommate after the ICU and a greatly-delayed late-night transfer to a rehabilitation hospital, but these are things that couldn't have been prevented. The hospital is very large and confusing to get around; maybe there could be more and better signage, especially inside the buildings.
