I think the people here work hard to treat people fairly and make hard times as comfortable as possible. It can be difficult to ask for help in a situation that you didn’t expect so to have people who understand and don’t judge you is a blessing and in my opinion I was treated with respect, empathy and compassion. Hopefully I will get on my feet quickly and won’t be too much of a burden to a system that helps many.
If you need help then ask. Make sure you are clear about what you’re hoping to accomplish with their help like job training, family planning, food, etc. They will do all that is in their abilities to help you.
I am just a little bit upset. I just had my daughter. I new I would be getting my interview date to add her (new baby) on in the mail. Well my appointment date didn't even allow me my post partum time? I didn't even get cleared from the doctor yet. Not sure how the government just figured I was okay and had no complications after the birth of my daughter? I honestly feel a bit disturbed by this. Should at least give new mom the time to reach her 6week mark. And its only 6weeks for healing if nothing at all went wrong. Very sad. It is a big help getting assistance when needed. On the other hand why be so quick with new mother and baby? Should be some level of respect for life itself.
