We were staying nearby and decided to stop in for take out our first night. This place checks all the boxes for a roadside burger and dog stand, but we found the food fell just short of the legacy this establishment holds. The hot dogs and kielbasa sandwich were clear favorites, flavorful with a good snap with each bite, but the burger came out dry and felt a bit uninspired. Regardless, we all enjoyed our food and I'd certainly give them another try.

Old school burger joint with a great selection of burgers, dogs, fries, shakes, etc. Super friendly service and honest, delicious food prepared by the owner. My burger was perfectly cooked and the fries were hot and crispy. No seating indoors but there are about a dozen picnic tables outside - the place for a relaxing lunch on a nice day.

The burgers were very very good, and exceeded my expectations but the clams strips platter was way too small for how much it costs and and downright rip off. The price for 3 burgers (just the burger, no fries) 2 sodas, a milkshake and that shame of a clam strips platter was 57 dollars! It wasy first time there and as much as I liked the burger I can't say I'll be back because it's just too expensive and I feel ripped off.

Gooseboro Drive-In is an old-fashioned roadside food stand and a real part of the local history. It’s a destination, not just a stop. Great hot dogs, burgers, and ice cream. Midweek ice cream specials make it affordable to take the kids out for a treat. Most important? They’ve got good pepper relish. That nice spicy-sweet kind that actually sticks to the hot dogs. Hard to find that anywhere else. Classic spot that’s been doing it right for years. Cash ONLY but they have start taking Venmo also. No indoor seating or bathrooms.

As I was travelling through the area and growing hangry, I was in the mood for a good Chilidog. It appears they use Hummel hotdogs. This place had delightful chilidogs, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, and lots of other great food options.
Unfortunately, I dropped my dog before finishing it, but I was able to eat most of it and it was all I had hoped for.
The staff here is friendly and kind.
Getting in and out is fairly smooth and easy, although while I was inside, my wife happened to see some guys roll in on motorcycles and one of them dumped their bike on the gravel driveway. She did say he seemed to be o.k., although I figure he must have been embarrassed and who knows if the bike got damaged. If you're rolling in on two wheels, use caution and be safe.
FYI, this place is cash only, which is fine with me. Just wanted to mention it because I know some people rely on their credit cards.
Overall, this is a great place to make a pitstop while out for a scenic ride in and through the area...
