Barnegat Lighthouse State Park

Visit this place a last week with family. What a wonderful experience. The trip is totally worth it. We will visit this place again and again. It's just that fun and it's a good workout, too. You should definitely climb the lighthouse 😎

Beautiful state park that is open daily until dusk. The light house is open to climb for a small fee on most days. The boardwalk along the inlet is a beautiful place to walk with fishermen also there trying their best to land an elusive fish.

For me, Barnegat Lighthouse has special meaning. Back in 1994, I dated a guy who had a boat docked in Barnegat and we'd go crabbing during the day with some of his friends. At night we'd throw the anchor and fish and just sit and talk and watch the light from the Lighthouse. I was just there again recently, on Halloween, with my new boyfriend. We walked his dog up n down the beach for a little while and then I walked all the up to the top of the lighthouse. I shared some photos and a stupid video of me climbing the stairs and looking out the windows. I pray I didn't say anything stupid in the video, but I added it anyway.

Beautiful (recently painted) lighthouse (you can climb up the 217 steps), water views, jetty and well- maintained paths. Lots of fisherman and photograhers along the jetty. Visitor Center with shop and restrooms available. From the lighthouse you can walk out to the ocean (around a mile). Worth a visit! Enjoy ~

Absolutely breathtaking! The view from the lighthouse is nothing short of spectacular. Panoramic scenes of the coastline stretch as far as the eye can see, with waves crashing rhythmically below and the horizon painted in shades of blue and gold. It’s peaceful, powerful, and the perfect spot to take in nature’s beauty. A must-visit for anyone who loves scenic overlooks or photography!
