So happy this place was recommended to us. I've been dealing with Stacy and she is very good at what she does and is also very compassionate. She gave us a better understanding of hospice and what it means and what they do as a service. Not only do they look after the patient but they are also very attentive of the families needs as well. For anyone wondering, hospice doesn't always mean the end of life care, its compassionate care to help someone and their family with an already existing medical condition. I highly recommend Stacy and her team to anyone in need of compassionate medical care. 😊 🙏 thank you Stacy and team
They seemed so wonderful in the beginning, but then my father failed to decline. Regardless, that didn't change the fact that he's terminal. He was taken off service to go on a trip. He had a medical emergency on the trip so we had to cut it short and come back. It was a friendly reminder that although he was feeling good at the time, his terminal condition had not changed. While in the hospital, we find out that Holisticare would not accept him back on hospice as they did not feel he was terminal (less than 6 months) any longer. The hospital staff thought that was absolutely wild, considering his conditions, so we went with another agency. Now that I have something to compare it to, I am so grateful that they did not allow my father back on their service. Apparently it's very common for hospice patients to feel better in the beginning prior to a decline. Which is exactly what is happening with my father. We found this out from the new hospice company. We are new on service and it's already like night and day. Just make sure you take your time and talk to the hospital staff about their experiences with a hospice company and don't just trust Google reviews like I did.
My mother has been with Holisticare Hospice for 7 weeks now and they are so good with her. Gloria, her aide, and Kirsten, her nurse are wonderful and very caring. Every member that I have interacted with, whether it be in person or just by phone, has been very helpful and always put my mother first whenever it comes to what's best for her. Their positive reviews is what made me decide to contact them before any other hospice, and it turned out that I never needed to contact any other one. I was very impressed from the very beginning and have never regretted or had any second thoughts choosing them. I highly recommend them
Today, my mom passed peacefully at home. My mom was always fearful of hospitals and rehabs. When she became very sick and we were at our wit’s end, we called Holisticare. They were absolutely fantastic in every way. The only reason that my family and I stayed sane was because of this amazing hospice team. As soon as the lovely people who got all the paperwork done came out, the team went to work, from the nurse practitioners to the nurses aides to the social workers and spiritual care, all of them were skilled professionals who not only helped my sick mother but also helped us to navigate understanding the dying process. If something happened in the
Middle of the night, the clinician on call was always there to help and was caring and compassionate. They ALWAYS made sure I got a call back from anyone I needed to speak to. My mom died with me and the nurse in the room. I had been worried about the end, but the nurse who was gently holding my mom slowly and calmly said, “She just took her last breath.” It allowed me to see the honor
it was being tnere when a loved one leaves us. Thank you to the entire team. I am forever in your debt. If you want your loved ones to leave with dignity, make the call. You owe it to your loved ones.
Sadly, I had to put my mom on hospice in October 2021. After doing research, I came across holisticare hospice, in Toms River, NJ. It was especially difficult because the world was shut down(COVID)., [But the people at holisticcare were very understanding and took every precaution….]
Being familiar with hospice, I reached out to the company that I had used before, and this new company, Holisticare… I interviewed both… I immediately signed on with Holisticare because of the (w)holistic way they approached end of life…. Both my mom and I were very pleased; we felt supported, comforted and cared for. It was the right choice.
They were only with us for a few months before my mom was taken from us.
But during this time, they were completely, and truly, in it every step of the way, available 24/7…I know because I called at hours of darkness when uncertainty would hit…Within minutes, a caring, compassionate employee (usually a nurse) would get back to me.
It has been over a year now and Holisticare still sends their messages of encouragement and support. At my moms one year anniversary, I received a pamphlet on how to handle this mile stone. It was very soothing and comforting, its words let me bawl without going over the edge.
I have buried a lot of people, but burying my mom was truly the hardest… my heart broke… but they were there and continue to be as I go through my grieving process.
I would recommend this company to everybody.
And finally, a special shout to Gina, my mom’s aid (the best I ever met, and I am a social worker!) and literally with me, holding my mom’s hand on that Friday morning in December as my mom took her final breath and joined Jesus and her loved ones in heaven.
I also want to say thank you to all the nurses on my moms team, (there was 2 in particular, her original assigned nurse and her ‘cover’, and I can’t remember their names, although I see their faces), who helped me to keep my mom comfortable, educated me on the use of end of life meds and expectations, making sure that I had all the supplies I needed ‘instantly’ and taught me how to use them; made appointments and time was never an issue. I never felt rushed.
So thank you, thank you, thank you. To everybody, in my opinion, who make this the best hospice company around.
