Place been around for decades with various owners. Current ownrrs been there a long time. Main waitress there, lovely woman, been there I think 17 years. Warm service, friendly. Aim to please. Food is fairly good, fairly routine menu. Good breakfasts. Reasonable prices. Good pizza. Thet also have good fried chicken.Homemade ice cream. Great for families and kids. Plenty of seating, in and out.
Aptly named, this place was crazy. Crazy in the fact that it’s on its last legs. I pray that a nice makeover and McKinsey consulting can turn this location around.
A pickle with my meal? Sounds great! See the below photo of my “pickle” ie 2 pickle chips…
“Add” fries for $4? I haven’t taken arithmetic since elementary school but why does that mean the chips go away?
Signs around the store look so poor, written on paper plates. Cmon just do anything else.
This place felt like I was in a ferry, without the funny bottles smashing (inquire within to get the full story lol).
My husband and I decided to take a long drive. We live in Philly and just hit the road... no specific destination in mind. After about an hour of driving, we realized we were hungry. I googled food places around the area we happened to be in and this spot popped up. It had decent reviews, so we decided to give it a try.
This was a FANTASTIC idea!! ALL of the staff was smiling, attentive, friendly and had great vibes. I'm so serious, everyone was awesome and made you feel welcomed.
We entered the restaurant and were told to grab any seat we wanted. I grabbed a table by the window. The place is really cute. It has a retro vibe and is bright and clean.
A waitress came to us immediately and served us. I got the shepherd's pie, (its one of my favorites and I haven't had it in over a decade. I was over the moon to see it on the menu!), and hubby got a fish sandwich with fries.
O.M.G. This was the BEST shepherd's pie I have ever had! Most shepherd's pie are made with ground beef, which I fully expected to see, but this had chunks of actual beef! 🤤🤤 And it was the MOST tender beef I have ever had in my life. It melted in my mouth!
Of course, I had to make hubby try it and he said that the beef was so tender, he doesn't believe it had ever been frozen and couldn't have been more than a day past slaughter. lol... It was absolutely delicious. I was so impressed! Mainly because I fully expected to see ground beef and, instead, got the softest, most tender beef chunks. Garlic bread was 10/10. Fantastic!!! ‼️‼️‼️
Hubby said his fish sandwich was also very fresh, only noting that the fish needed a tad more seasoning because it was a fresh water fish. He is from the Bahamas though and Bahamians tend to be fish connoisseurs... lol... they analyze every piece of seafood they eat. Ultimately, he was very happy with his dish and said he'd order it again, so it must've been great!
The two meals, a cup of coffee and a glass of lemonade came to about $45. Not too bad for today's economy.
Overall, this was a nice little treat on our day out while traversing with no destination.
Kudos to the staff and the chef! 🏆🥰🤤😍
We stopped there for dinner after a trip to Peddler's village to see the Christmas lights. We were a group of 8 and ordered a variety of dishes. Service was very good. Food came quickly and was decent. The price was reasonable. Overall, we were mostly happy with our experience.
