We knew we were in for a treat when there was a sign over this establishment which just said “Diner.” It seems some of the best places we find aren’t always obvious on the outside.

We were visiting the area for a few days and stopped for lunch in the middle of a long day of meetings. A local friend suggested this place and joined us for lunch.

The menu was straight forward with reasonable prices. The menus at some places feel like a huge tome checked out of a research library, but a jack of all trades is a master of none. Martucci’s Flashback Diner has a smaller menu, but they are masters at what they do and they do it well!

    Atmosphere:
Martucci’s has the classic feel of a small town diner, where locals gather for small talk and big flavor. As we entered we were welcomed by a staff member (host? Manager? Owner? I’m not sure 🤷‍♂️). This gentleman seemed to be on a first name basis with several of the regular locals, but equally inviting to first-time visitors. There was a small group of police officers enjoying lunch together, giving the sense that this is a well-known, and often-visited, local gathering place. The music and the decor told a story of simpler times, a nostalgic escape from the busy world outside.

    Food:
Martucci’s offers breakfast foods all day, and I had skipped breakfast, so I took the opportunity to indulge. I ordered pancakes and bacon, while my wife went with the eggs Benedict. The diner also offered burgers, hot dogs, steak sandwiches, and a wide variety of other hot & cold sandwiches, and meals. Everything was ready in a reasonable amount of time and tasted great!

    Prices:
Our friend was very generous and covered lunch for us, but the prices listed in the menu were more than reasonable. A person could easily grab lunch for under $15.

We will definite back if/when we visit this area of New Jersey again!

What a great little diner I stumbled upon in Manchester! Exceptional food and service, especially considering it's in a strip mall. But don't let that fool you! I started with a cup of French onion soup, which came out perfect. Then for my main course the open faced turkey. It was smothered in gravy, and so were the mashed potatoes that it came with. I order turkey often at other establishments, and sometimes it tastes gamey. That was not the case here, very wholesome fresh tasting roasted turkey (not cold cuts). Keep up the good work!

Martucci Flashback Diner – Called in a takeout order for a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a hard roll, plus a bacon, egg, and cheese on a hard roll. Service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the food was excellent. Definitely a place I’d order from again.

This diner is located close to where I stay when I come to New Jersey, so we came here for dinner since we had not tried it before. The theming of the diner is super cool. They have a classic diner look and play some classic music. I ordered the cheeseburger and added bacon, and then I got a side of french fries. The cheeseburger came with a side of coleslaw, but I gave it to someone else since I am not crazy about coleslaw. My sister ordered the banana nutella french toast, which comes with a hashbrown. Our server was Angie and she was very nice! She came around the table a couple of times to check on us and make sure we had everything we wanted. The burger was nice and had a charbroiled taste to it. I asked for it to be cooked medium, but it seems to be more like medium well, but it tasted just fine. The french fries were fantastic! I added a little bit of salt and pepper to them and they went really well with ketchup. The banana nutella french toast was absolutely delicious, and it looked as good as it tasted. Everything was reasonably priced and there was quite a lot of food too. Overall, we had a great experience here, and I would definitely come back again!
