3 years later, me and the boys (3 & 5) went back again last weekend... I can confirm that the magic is still there. We actually attempted the scavenger hunt this time, got maybe half correct, but we still won the prize =)
It's like those find & seek books but IRL. There's always little surprises everywhere you look. I chuckled when I spotted a yellow UFO this time, probably the vessel that the three alien muskateers came in (iykyk).
I only wish this place was less expensive, so that more people can experience this one of a kind experience.
It is really impressive! You won’t believe how much work had been down to finish the giant museum. I spend about two hours to finish the walk inside the museum. I can see a lot of train models and fantastic art there. All the kids were very excited.
Northlandz has ample parking. They have a wheelchair & stroller entrance.
It has a good size gift shop. You can have a birthday party there. You will be walking a mile inside the building.
The model railroad has a European style
Display. It’s very creative! If you like
Structure design work this is for you.
You can play a scavenger hunt throughout the display. We did not see
many trains. The place needs some repair. It’s almost 30 years old. We paid
$40. each adult. It took us 2 hours to go
through the place. There is only one bench along the way. You will see (8)
miles of railroad tracks.
We had a fabulous time at this place. Dont believe all the reviews about broken exhibits and non-functional trains. Everything works fine.
We were amazed at the details of the exhibits.
They even had a scavenger hunt to find certain details while looking at the miniature trains.
Fun place to spend a couple of hours.
It was very informative and interesting. A 3 story building and 1 mile walk, while doing a scavenger hunt on the "to-do list"? This is the place! Good for all ages. Do recommend breathable clothes during the the visit because of how hot you'll be halfway through.
