I try not leave negative reviews but three times they have strikes out with me.
the staff member I talked to on the phone originally scheduled me for 3 PM. come the day of the appt. And at 10:30 AM they call me and leave a VM saying I missed the appointment. I wrote everything down in my calendar and know the original woman was supposed to schedule me for 3, I am not wrong. But because everything is virtual and they sent me a “virtual message” I am the one who’s fault it is now according to the receptionist there today. I am being charged for the appointment they messed up.
When I called to dispute this the woman was very rude and compassion-less on the phone. I explained to her I’m on disability and cannot afford the $25 charge this month. and I need an apportionment today bc the situation was urgent (blood in urine). She rudely informed me she can’t waive the fee because I got an online message and not seeing the message was not an excuse for them. What am I supposed to do now? Do you think they care about my issues or finances?
Furthermore I’ve seen a PA here twice (never a real DR) and both times she has messed up the referrals for outside testing. I’ve gone to two seperate tests only for the techs to inform me what I really needed done was not what the PA ordered. (Exercise asthma didn’t request a treadmill test- vagina ultrasound did not request internal) Just very disappointed in their lack of attention to detail and care. The PA is nice enough but naive and honestly I get better results at my local urgent care.
They messed up three times on their end and I’ve been the one paying the price. Either for unnecessary/ wrong tests (which were NOT cheap) or for appointments they mischeduled. And again I am on disability/ Medicare butThey just don’t care. Simple. Find someone else.
My family and I all go here. The biggest plus points of this office are that the doctors are never rushing you out and they are so so nice. In the last few weeks my adult kids have been to specialists and urgent care and it is unbelievable what the medical community has become. Literally 5 minute appts and then getting billed for thousands of dollars. Not at pleasant run. They take their time and don’t make you feel like you’re just another source of money.
I have always been very pleased with the services. I have been seeing Dr. Dellavalle since about 6th grade (I am now 27 and pregnant). Dr. Dellavalle has always spent the time ensuring all of my questions are answered and making sure I feel at ease with all my concerns. Furthermore, she never rushes me and truly knows me. With that said, if there is ever a wait, it’s because she’s spending the time needed with her patients… which is super comforting to me!
To continue, I am so grateful that she is always extra cautious (better safe than sorry) and that her first approach is not just a medication. I know when she suggests a medication, she truly thinks it is needed. Additionally, Dr. Dellavalle provides all options and recommendations, and always shares what the research says… she always has evidence to back her recommendations. If she is not 100% confident, she will refer to her database for research or will recommend a specialist. For example, If you have a questionable mole, she’ll recommend further follow up with a Dermotologist (which I really appreciate her thorough evaluation, concern, and honesty). In conclusion, I highly recommend this practice… especially Dr. Dellavalle!
I would also like to note that over the years, the office staff and the nurses desk has really grown! They are friendly, prompt, and helpful! For instance, I had a medication issue with a pharmacy and they were on top of it and took care of it right away. They called me to let me know the status of the process. They even helped with the insurance company, when I was unable to get the answers/ progress with them. I was so grateful for the nurse on duty, along with the other staff who may have contributed, for going the extra mile to ensure I got what I needed!
My experience at Pleasant Run has been first rate for three years.
My primary physician, Erica Gilroy, warmly cares and listens well, reviews my health history carefully, looks at the big picture and how the parts relate, is broadly knowledgeable and thorough, and follows up conscientiously. I credit her with helping me in multiple ways to be in pretty good shape as I reach 80.
Office staff I have encountered ... Gloria, Brittany, Kristin ... have been welcoming, efficient, and helpful.
I consider Pleasant Run Family Physicians to be a community treasure.
