My pet was sick. Dr.H was very thorough with her examination of Charlie. Everything Dr there is very compassionate and you can tell that they care for each and every patient they care for. We were seeing Dr Golub before it was AHR and wouldn’t change for anything. Love these Drs. Their techs and staff are wonderful. Thank you AHR for taking great care of all of our fur babies.
Roxbury animal hospital was the vet we switched to towards the end of my pup’s life. We were referred to them by a friend. Since we switched it’s been a wonderful experience. I am most familiar with Dr. Hickenbottom. My dog was around 13 at the end of his life and this establishment was somehow able to make the worst day of my life a lot less terrible. We opted to euthanize my dog after learning of a third degree heart block. They came to my house and was about to manage their job despite my hysterics. If I ever have the room in my heart to adopt another animal I will only ever go to Roxbury animal hospital. They care. Your dog isn’t a number or a paycheck. They are a living being and are treated wonderfully here.
I have been a client of AHR for about 2 years. Dr Elia has cared for my yellow Lab, Pit Mix and Siberian Husky with compassion, honesty and fully explains the pros and cons of certain treatments and does not suggest treatments just to make $$ unlike the other practice I belonged to. My 12 year old lab Goldie was diagnosed with Canine ALS the summer of 2023. Dr Elia was honest advising this could progress very slowly or very rapidly. Unfortunately for Goldie it progressed more rapidly than we both hoped. Dr Elia is very compassionate. I had scheduled a euthanasia appointment but canceled. Speaking with her about what had transpired in my home that morning she completely understood, reassured me that making sure everyone is on the same page is important and forcing a family member to say goodbye especially with the circumstances surrounding the family situation and the "meaning" of Goldie to all of us would not be ideal. About a week later I made that call again and because I could not lift her to get her to the office she and one of her techs came to my home, explained to my kids (young adults) what happens and waited until we all were ready to say goodbye. Her "bedside" manner is one that made saying goodbye to our beloved pet that much easier. I have three dogs; again and will entertain her and her staff like always with the 2 sassy and dramatic huskies I own.
I recently had my first visit at Roxbury Animal Hospital with my two cats, and the experience was above and beyond! Colleen and Jennifer at the front desk were so very kind and answered all million of my questions with care and kindness. The vet techs greeted me with a smile and made me feel comfortable and confident in taking my girls there for their checkup. Dr. Elia is incredibly intelligent and thorough. She made sure my girls were healthy from top to bottom. Everybody who handled my cats treated them with grace and love, pet them and made them feel safe.
It is such a relief to have found this place, and I couldn’t recommend them more. Thank you again
