Was dropping my best friend to her new accommodations while they relocate her to a new place. Its on the better side of what to expect for a motel. Better than most and I've been all over. NO wi-fi at the current time, when I wrote this.
I don't know what others paid for this room but I got more than I expected! It was so reasonably priced that I imagined The Bates Motel. It looks , feels and smells clean. It is a no frills room, very reasonably priced. The Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again.
Very nice people running it. Have stayed here a few times now. Sheets are always clean along with the room and towels. Great price and no further than 15 minutes to anything. The bagel place where you redeem your breakfast at is also very good.
We were looking to stay in Poughkeepsie as we went to college in the area and have friends we wanted to visit. EVERYTHING we tried from there to Fishkill was booked. The manager or owner here was absolutely lovely on the phone when we called to reserve. They had rooms, and he worked to get us 2 rooms side-by-side and didn't charge extra even though one of them was a higher cost room. We were 5 adults and 2 children. It was prefect for us.
The Bagel Bites cafe was delightful. they have delicious bagels and good coffee, but also many other menu options. Your voucher gets you $3.50 worth of whatever you want and beyond that you just pay the extra. a bagel and coffee is easily covered by it, but they had a burger, vegan burger, salads, and more typical eggs & hash brown breakfast foods too. Everyone was so pleasant.
The hotel was easy to find, even at 11 o'clock at night. we walked from there down to the Hudson River walkway (it was a 5-mile round trip. we needed something to let the kids get the wiggles out for the next day's car trip!).
It's not a resort hotel! if you want super fancy stuff this isn't it, but everything was functional and it was definitely clean and recently re-done (within a couple of years i'd say). You can tell it's had some hard use, but the bathroom fixtures and furniture were new and everything was well cared-for. one room had laminate flooring and the other had carpet.
Some of the neighbors seem to be long-stay residents and they were very pleasant and one woman shared information about good places to go walking.
We brought our own pop-up bed for the baby because the man did tell us ahead of time they don't have cribs. Fortunately the Kidco Peapod packs beautifully!
If we need to stay on this side of the river again, I would definitely stay here. It was close to the mid-hudson bridge and easy to access.
