Very clean and comfortable. I have a fear of inexpensive motels due to previous bad experiences-but nothing at all to fear here. Pleasantly surprised, would definitely stay here again.
Since September 2024, I have been making all my reservation at the Rodeway Inn Suite in New New Platz-Hudson Valley. My stay has been excellent. The rooms are clean and the hallway at night is quiet. The staff are very friendly and professional. I would Recommend all work staff from the surrounding areas to stay at this suite it’s worth it
My wife and I are up here for my wife's alumni weekend. This hotel was a fifteen minute drive from her old campus. I must say I haven't seen a Bible in a hotel in about twenty years. It sort of confused me with the lock on the fridge door with instructions for the key at the front desk. The bathroom itself looked newly renovated with a new tub. The bedspread and drapes had fall colors which I wasn't sure was on purpose or not. While the surrounding area was nothing but woods and road there was a mall and food spots within 5 min which was pretty good. The also had two charge stations for electric cars and solar panels they used for lights outside. If you can't adjust the volume on the remote press the button under TV with the power light. Overall it was a inexpensive option and pretty decent one.
We took this room to be close to Gardener, NY. We looked at reviews and took a chance it was a busy weekend due to Alumni night and a wedding or two in the area. All the higher end named hotels were sold out. We paid $170 for the room, which was a decent size and had two beds and a couch. It had been renovated at some point as the bathroom had a nice tub surround and updated sink vanity. The furniture in the room was worn. It had a small fridge, microwave, and kurig coffee maker. The beds were very comfortable, as were the pillows. Other than the doors opening and closing very loudly, waking us up at 5am in the morning, it was rather quiet.
The bad news was the cleaning staff was not up to par. We found a human hair on the top towel in the bathroom. There was another hair in the corner of the tub. My wife found poop marks on the seat of the toilet, which she cleaned off. I found numerous areas of dust on the light fixtures. We always give a quick wipe down of a room with disinfectant wipes. This room required twice the usual amount. There are also stains on the couch, which was a velour material as well as one of the lounge chairs. Suffice to say, we did not use either. It was a shame as the front desk asked me the next morning, and I had to be honest about it. With a better cleaning staff, this could be a nicer place. I also noticed Priceline was pushing an additional night for $70 plus tax, quite a bit less than staying over on a Saturday. We likely would skip this place if other choices are available for a bit more money. Unless you don't mind a dirty room.
Was nearly put off by the reviews I had read - glad I wasn’t the reception was fine it looked newly renovated, the room was large and clean with two queen beds in it. The location is a little out of town but that you can see from the map. The walls were solid and no noise transference, the long corridors of with rooms off of it is typical of a motel. There are low income people staying at the far end of the ‘complex’ - but my experience was fine and the price was extremely good.
